Happy Saturday Friends!

Hope you are having a good weekend.  We are doing OK but it’s still very cold and it’s affecting my ability to create. I did watch the first six Wanderlust classes on double speed today, whilst under a blanket with the cats, as I really want to catch up LOL.  First comes the watching then comes the doing!  I have also managed to create a page (over two days) in a different journal to my usual because the one that I usually use is one that I make myself and the cost of the paper has doubled, so I have had to find cheaper options.

Today’s Art . . .

Today’s art is this art journal page which was intended for the Instagram challenge #seekgathercreate which is like a scavenger hunt and quite fun, but my page will also fit a few other challenges so I will list them at the end.  The items for this week were 1. use denim 2. use tissue paper 3.  something folded and 4. something rusty.

The pink with the damask pattern and the green with the heart pattern are both tissue papers.  The small envelope is my something folded item, and the denim hearts are my denim item.  For the rust item, I used some rusty water on the envelope and edge of the page, and I used some rusty metallic paint on my wax seal.

I used this Tim Holtz quote sticker cut in half.  Isn’t it funny how things turn out differently than what you were intending?  I did not intend to use yellow at all, and yet look how much yellow there is on this page!  Funny that.

And I used this stencil and grunge paste from Paperartsy on my background.  There are also some paint splatters, acrylic ink, washi tape and a post-it note on there too.

There is also a very short reel I made for Instagram, and the song I used was Blue Denim by Stevie Nicks…

It is refreshing to see pink after seeing so much red. I really like this page Elle. Those denim hearts are a knockout and create lots of super texture. Actually your whole page has lots of super texture. I really like it. I like the colors, the textures, the hearts…it might have taken you 2 days to make it but it was definitely worth it. Stay warm too. Bed is always the best place to hibernate I think. Happy rest of your weekend. hugs-Erika
