Happy May everyone!
Since it is the very first day of the month, I am excited to share my DT inspiration project for May at More Than Words with you. I’m really looking forward to this month’s challenge since there are so many things to celebrate this month, especially here in the UK where we have a coronation! Here’s my page…
The challenge this month is as follows:
The first thing I thought of was of course, the coronation of King Charles. The shops are full of coronation merch, and we get a public holiday on the 8th to celebrate the occasion. I’m been tidying in the art room/s and came across this scrap of fabric that I think was leftover from a Jubilee collection, so I’ve had it quite a while and this is the only piece left. I decided to use it on my page. Aside from using this scrap of fabric and finding an image of Charles, I had no other idea where this page was going to go lol. I coloured the background using some light blue acrylic ink. The picture of Charles comes from the internet. I also used some glittery ribbon and more fabric, this time a “keep calm” quilting fabric, but I just cut out the “keep calm” words and not the whole motif. The Jubilee fabric actually had white outlines but I coloured them in black with my Posca pen. Then I used the same pen to draw the design around the edge. I also used the packaging from a packet of buttons as it had some bunting on it and the Portabello Road street sign image. Finally I wrote the name of the page with a black Posca and added some acrylic ink splatters in pink and white.
Let me know what you think in the comments. As always, thanks for reading!Ingredients
