So excited when this arrived from amazon this morning!  I’ve ummed and ahhed over getting one of these for so long, but finally bit the bullet and got this one (mostly because of the colour lol) and of course it being a starter kit, and of course – the price!

The price was the best I found online at £82.49.

Presenting a brand-new look for the Big Shot! With a swirl of powder blue-and-teal colors and the Sizzix logo bursting out brightly, this version of the Big Shot Machine offers plenty of stylish appeal with the same versatility of working with the entire Sizzix product library (with the exception of Bigz Plus and Bigz Pro dies) – and that includes our smallest dies to our big 6″ wide plastic-backed treasures and embossing tools. If that wasn’t big enough, this portable roller machine cuts and embosses many different materials. Create your own one-of-a-kind cards, invitations, scrapbook pages, home décor, fashion, altered art, quilting and much more!

I have to say that the stuff in the starter kit is not terribly exciting, but I guess does give you something to practice with before spending any more money on dies.  The reason for finally buying one of these was because I wanted to use it for cutting fabric motifs, so I also bought a couple of Bigz dies to use with it, a deer and a Scottie dog with a bone #657688.

And this one #657247 Reindeer with antlers:
I’m really looking forward to trying some cutting using some of my fabrics and vinyls to see how they turn out – even some Tweed!  Yes they both work for Scottish themed projects and my sister especially loves Scottie dogs so I can’t wait to see how they turn out.
