Previously in Part I (ie yesterday) I decided to make a couple of Hello Friend cards using two stamp sets by Laurel Burch – Tribal Cats and Indigo Cats. Here’s a reminder of the stamp sets…

Yesterdays post was all about the stamping and colouring and fussy cutting of one set and die cutting of the second set. But now that I have all the pieces ready, it was time to make the cards!
First I made a couple of backgrounds using my favourite Distress Oxides and sprayed them with water and blotted them before quickly drying them with a hairdryer.
Then I started planning out the cards and how I could make them pop-up cards. I am doing it the old-fashioned way ie with no special dies! It was just a matter of measuring the card and the cats and working out where to put the pop up so that nothing overlapped or stuck out beyond the card. For this card I wanted the three cats to be side by side, so I cut slots in the background card, and then popped it up along the fold line, then attached the cats to each one.
Then I stamped the Friend sentiment in black but decided I didn’t like it and then stamped it again using Versamark, then heat embossed it in gold to match the embossing on the cats.
You can see the shiny gold sentiment in the card below.
For the second card I basically repeated the process from the first card except this card was more elaborate and had more popups. This time the cats are not side by side, they are at different levels and then there are the floating butterflies at the back.
Here’s a close-up of the second card – I love how bright and colourful it is!
And here they both are side by side…
See Part I for all the stamping and colouring.
