So would you believe a few months ago, I was actually entertaining the idea of visiting this year’s Creativation show? Luckily I didn’t since I have zero money so that would have been a very silly thing to do and even more importantly, my mother went into hospital that same weekend! Anyway, I would love to see everything first hand, the product launches, the “celebrities”, the goodie bags etc, but I have to be practical and logical and tell myself that it’s not necessary to go there (all the hassle, the travel, the expense) to see all the products and the celebrities because we have Youtube for that. Also given my decision to not buy anything for a while and to declutter, it would have been really counter-productive to come home laden with goodie bags full of stuff I probably don’t need. I would really like to see Phoenix though as I haven’t been to Arizona. I have been to New Mexico and I like the desert so it kind of appeals to me (it’s a dry heat after all). Ach well, there’s always next year right.
Meanwhile, as I said, there is always Youtube. Honestly with the hospital stress and everything, it was a welcome relief to just stare at some videos for a while, so here are some of my favourites and I made a (short) list of new products that I am intrigued by, interested in, curious about. These videos are all here in one place as much for my benefit as anyones, so I don’t need to keep searching for them. Now there is a LOT more going on at Creativation than just these videos about these brands but like I said, these are the ones I am most interested in personally. There are a lot of others that I’m not interested in, don’t need (gasp!) or just aren’t my style.
Search Youtube for “creativation 2019” to see a myriad of other videos about other brands and products.

Here’s a list of the products I am most curious about:
Concord and 9th – Everyday Turnabout Kit, love it, don’t really need it as I know how to turn, but I love it. To the Point turnabout, Floral Print Silhouette – love the bear die etc, Hey There Turnabout – similar to the Hello turnabout as I said before, but it is super cute, Peek-through Patterns, really love this one too and the Poppies stamp and dies!.
Distress Archival Ink (do I need these in my life?), more alcohol inks (pearl) maybe, not sure I need these? All the other alchohol ink products I have already. Distress Oxide Sprays hmmm…..
Hero Arts 26 new cardstock colours (no I don’t need more cardstock but they look so pretty)
Hero Arts Mail Jumble Stamp – I LOVE this! I wondered what else to do with the advent window die, so this is brilliant
Pebeo – I think I really want just about everything I saw in their demo. I will have to narrow it down a bit though, and maybe have a look at the products in person, to decide, but they all looked like such fun to play with
Waffle Flower – it’s an older one but I don’t have it, so Books and Coffee stamp and die set I need this in my life. Bouquet Builder, Little Painters is cute too. Magnolia Stamp, Speech Bubbles die, Tile Panel die, Sweet Treats stamp, the swatching sets I love. I know I don’t really need them because I can probably draw some squares and I actually have a stencil set from Jane Davenport that does something similar, but I still want them lol The WATER MEDIA MAT I am finding very intriguing. It’s silicone and non-slip and I am wondering if I need this in my life? UPDATE May 1st, 2019: Just watched Jennifer McGuire’s YT video about this mat, and how she used it for ink blending, that seemed to work quite well. In Jennifer’s video she suggested we watch Kristina Werner’s video since she does more with watercolour. So I just watched Kristina Werner’s YT video about this mat and I realised that I really don’t need it after all as she covered the palette with plastic packaging and she still taped her paper to a board, so the water media mat was underneath everything but wasn’t actually used at all – maybe to stop some water runoff? I don’t think I need it after all. If I’m missing something, someone please enlighten me :/ UPDATE May 15th 2019: OK I just watched someone do mirror stamping with it and it worked pretty well so it’s back in the maybe pile!
Altenew – new pigment inks (black like Versafine), gold metallics, cardstock, metallic watercolour sets (maybe not because I have the Kuretake sets), new washi (probably yes because washi, but I find it hard to actually use it and not just hoard it and look at it lol),
Darkroom Door – book spines stamp, open book stamp, postcard stamp, spiral notebook stamp, film strip border stamp, paintbrushes, leaves, flowerbed, stencils – artist, journey, peace etc, photo stamp – stacks of books, trees, collage stamp – pot of paintbrushes, typewriter. Eclectic Stamps – cat, paintbrushes, paint tubes
Wendy Vecchi – stay-tion. I am intrigued by the fact that it’s magnetic and I could probably use that for all kinds of things
We Are Memory Keepers – happy jig, big version. Not new but I want the planner punch and the word punch
Amy Tangerine – watercolour paint set is super cute. I don’t need more watercolours but I really like the look of this set. I have no idea of the quality though
Idea-ology – hardware heads, date dials, pocket watches, timepieces, deco frames, new vignette boxes, new collage paper, journal cards, gold stencil letters (stencil chips), big talk, baseboard dolls, acetate wings
Ink Road – harry potter stamps, mean girls, gay pride, daisy alphabet,
Nuvo – dream drops, stone drops, spatulas, blending tools and brushes
Heidi Swapp – wolf pack collection, Still trying to find Hawthorne, and ALL THE MINC STUFF!!!
Dyan Reaveley – new black journal, new jumpstart journal
Dina Wakley – new 6 inch journal, new designer accessory bags are a nice shape and size, but I make my own so I don’t really need these
Catherine Pooler inks – I am very tempted by these as I hear good things and the colours are fab. They are just a little harder to get over here. I also like her planner, but again I make my own so I probably won’t buy one.
