Notecards Bulk Stamping Part 2 – The Fine Line Florals Cards – Making 48 Notecards Using My Tim Holtz Stamp Platform And Two Lids

And onto the next part of this marathon notecard stamping!  If you want to know in more detail what I am doing and why I am using two lids from the Stamp Platform, check out part one which is about the start of the process and the butterfly stamping.

Time to move on to the next stamp set I was going to use and it was this one also by Concord & 9th.

Again using the same A4 watercolour paper so I could cut it into 4 x A6 size notecards, I positioned this large stamp in the Stamp Platform.  This was a little different to how I stamped the butterflies in the previous post because this stamp, if positioned right, could cover half the paper and then be made into two notecards if I could get it just right. It’s such a large image that I thought it would work if I chopped it in half once I was done, so in this instance, I only needed to stamp it twice, rotating the paper one time to get what I wanted.

I stamped one paper with the teal colour and then a second paper with the pink ink.

 

This is how the images will look once I am done.  Imagine a horizontal cut through the middle of this paper cutting each stamped image in half, giving flowers on both pieces.

I then positioned the solid stamp from the set, and stamped in yellow, spraying the stamp with water as before, to give a watercolour effect.

With the smaller flowers I decided to colour them in using my Altenew Watercolor Pan Set and a water brush.  And yes, this is the messy chaos I usually work in, lol.

Here’s one I prepared earlier (not really, I just like saying that lol).  This is one that has been stamped with the purple ink and then the smaller flowers coloured in with the water brush.  Then I used the same sentiments from the Hello Lovely stamp set.

Here’s a photo of both the yellow and purple flowers ready to be cut into 4 x A6 cards.

I was trying to explain to my friend how this would work because her initial reaction was  – too bad some of them are upside down!

As before, I had drawn pencil lines on the watercolour paper to divide the card into four sections, then worked out where to position the stamps so that they would be in the right position to stamp in all four sections when they were rotated.

This is how they looked after they were cut, and again I used the Hello Lovely stamp set from Concord & 9th for the sentiments. Not only is this a lovely stamp set, but it also has some very useful little sentiments.

And here are the finished pieces – this time showing them all the right way up – this is something you have to think about when stamping this way, that while you are stamping some of them will look as though they are upside down, but you need to be able to think this way, to make sure they are the right way up in the end once they are cut.

These pieces are now ready to be made into notecards – here’s a quick look at a couple of them…
