Let’s Visit Mummy’s House Card – Halloween Mixed Media Card

The third of three Halloween cards I made on the same day – do you think they look similar?

Still on the ghost house silhouette theme, I created this card using the same Sizzix dies as with the previous two cards. I wanted something a little different though, so I used mummy stamps on the background and heat embossed them using Vintage Beeswax embossing powder, then applied various paints to the background, letting them find their way through the mummies to the bottom of the card. Once everything was dry I attached the house, bats and trees to the card, using the same method as the previous card.  I created a matching panel to go on the other side of the easel card to help prop it open for display, and stamped Happy Halloween on it.  Then I attached both to the card base which is made of the same Key Lime cardstock.

Final Thoughts

I really love making backgrounds this way and i’m really enjoying using this embossing powder.  I like how the mummies turned out as I wasn’t sure it was going to show up enough, but when everything dried, they were just how I wanted them to be.  I still have some of these little die cuts leftover so I may have to make more Halloween cards.
