Hi Crafty Friends!

Time for – you guessed it – another Christmas card!  What can I say, it’s consuming all my time at the moment, so here’s the latest.  I am using some older Tim Holtz Sizzix dies again, nothing new.  I like it when you can craft your stash and not spend money on anything new, especially at this time of the year, right.

This card is made using a nice ethereal looking Distress Oxide background from my stash.  I made this background some time ago and it was made on some scrap paper so I had to be careful trimming it down to size in case it ripped!

I made the little snowman using this Bigz die from a few years ago – I wanted to say 2015 or thereabouts.  It’s a Bigz steel rule die so it can cut a lot of thicker materials like chipboard, fabric etc.  I used it to cut my snowman out of watercolour paper, which I then coloured using Inktense pencils.

Then I used the Tim Holtz Shadow Script Christmas words dies to cut out the merry and bright words and shadow words, and cut two trees from the Woodlands thinlits set.  The merry and bright words are cut using green metallic cardstock, then I cut the shadow words from watercolour paper and painted it to match the vintage look of the snowman.  I painted the trees using Inktense pencils and a water brush, and left the edges unpainted so it looked like snow on the edges.

Then I glued everything in place and left it to dry.  I distressed and inked the edges of the paper using Ground Espresso Distress Archival and adhered the panel to a piece of Gina K Tranquil Teal cardstock – this is a big card, so basically one piece of cardstock folded in half!

And that was the card done and another Christmas card added to my done pile!

I love this little guy, he looks so excited at discovering some Christmas trees, look at him waving his little hands around lol.

I really like those rustic dies and the metallic and glittery touches on this wonderful card. Thanks so much for playing with us at Time Out.
