Morning Friends!

Today I am sharing this very romantic card inspired by Valentine’s Day of course because ’tis the season of LOVE after all lol.  I wanted to make something that was a little shabby, a little vintage, and a little romantic.  I think it would make a lovely anniversary card.  It is also my DT project for More Than Words Mini Challenge this month.  The word for this month’s Mini Challenge is WHEN so this Tim Holtz sticker saying “I’m happiest when I’m with you” seemed appropriate but also from Tim, this stamp which says “When I want to see love defined, I look at you”.

I chose this paper from Prima French Riviera collection, some Tim Holtz snippets, paper dolls and this cool lace baseboard frame.

I wanted to alter the background so I firstly painted it with clear gesso to protect it.

I added some paint and ink and paint splatters to the background.

And here is the finished card – sorry, no in-depth tutorial today – but I do have some closeups to highlight a couple of things.

I edged the card with gold icing paste – see how thick and yummy it is on the edges there? I also stamped the card with Tim Holtz “Stuff to Say 2” sentiment stamp which says “when I want to see love defined I look at you”  awww and added the TH sticker at the bottom that says “I’m happiest when I’m with you”.

I also edged all of the elements with Finnabair waxes, adding a gilded look to them, and I used Prima’s Apricot Honey paper to cut out this LOVE word to put in the frame.

Then I touched up the dolls with some Distress Markers – the bride’s cheeks and bouquet, the groom’s shoes etc. and that was it for this card.

The Mini Challenge is held on their Facebook page, click this link to enter More Than Words February Mini Challenge.
