Hi everyone, one last post for June!
This is one last post for this month and it’s an art journal page that I started this morning, set aside and then came back to late tonight just in time for a challenge theme:
Nothing says retro like doilies right? So why not go the full hog and make them brown! And a pink and orange background and some rainbow backgrounds for the Professor(s).
As it’s so late now, I will come back to this in the morning with more photos and details.
Morning! What a difference daylight makes, right? I think this sticker sums it up perfectly – I really have absolutely no desire to fit in LOL. So I started with the idea of using orange and pink because that always seems quite retro to me, very 60s-70s colours. I used Paperartsy Tangerine and Bubblegum for the background and the stencilling. Tangerine is quite a translucent colour so it does look quite yellow here but that works too. I used a Dina Wakley stencil to make the pink squares. This was after using an Indigoblu stencil that I had been planning to use on this project since the beginning of the month and then when I used it, it didn’t look the way I expected it to look so I had to start over. 🙁
I used the Tim Holtz Doilies stamps and a brown ink (very retro) and then heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. For the focal point I stamped out The Professor three times on some rainbow backgrounds I made previously with Distress Oxides. Here’s a look at some of the backgrounds I made.
I used a Sizzix die to cut a frame around the Professors and then stuck them to the background.
The last step was to add the Snarky Small Talk sticker. This one seemed perfect.
Thanks for reading, let me know what you think in the comments below.

I started something new for April and continuing . . .
Since we are all stuck inside and can’t leave the house, I thought I would try and do two things:
1. use this time to finish any unfinished projects
2. use as much recycled materials as possible (I do this a lot anyway) but also not to buy new stuff!
So, with that in mind, I will note the above on any posts, if applicable.
UNFINISHED PROJECT – NO
RECYCLED MATERIALS – NO, but nothing new bought
Thanks for visiting today. Your comment is really appreciated.
