Hi everyone, hope your day is going well and the weather is being kind to you. It’s getting colder here and I don’t enjoy the cold, plus there are only so many layers you can add and still be able to move lol. Anyway, I guess I have cold and winter on my mind right now as a lot of my projects seem to be heading that way, and this one is no exception.
It’s time for a new Mini Challenge over on More Than Words Challenge Blog and so I have my DT inspiration piece to show you today. If you want a closer look, just click on the image to see full size.
There’s a few photos included below but no step-by-step photos on how it came together, because it happened very fast and my background was from my stash. I had this quote in mind and thought I would just quickly type it up in a few different fonts and print it out to add to my card. Of course it couldn’t be easy! For some reason the printer is playing up, and telling me there is a paper jam. There is no paper jam. What I suspect is that it is kitty related. One of them in particular has been using it as a step to reach higher places ie top of the bookcase (!) and she doesn’t step lightly, she jumps up and down, on and off it. I think it has put pressure on the rollers so there is not enough room for them to roll and so it thinks there’s a paper jam.
So after several attempts to print last night, I finally had to semi-dismantle the printer, and physically hold the top of the printer away from the rollers to get it to print! Not really what I had in mind when I ran downstairs to quickly print something. Finally after about 90 mins I got some text I could use!
I needed a moon! I thought about having some kind of crescent moon but it looked weird on my card, so full moon it is! I was looking around for something to draw around and this handy economy sized bottle of hand sanitiser was just the right size! How convenient for me, but still weird that i would have bottle this size. Still getting used to the things we have to do nowadays to stay safe. FYI I do have a set of circle dies but I really couldn’t be bothered looking for them so I went with the lo-tech option.
And here’s the finished card, very quickly made – it does make a difference when you have things in your stash already and you just have to assemble them!
And here’s a closer look at the quote. I also added some silver paint splatters and edged the card with silver also.
