Hello friends and happy Thursday!

We are back to our regularly scheduled postings as it gets closer to Christmas and everything becomes very busy all of a sudden.  Isn’t it funny how that happens, everything seems to speed up the closer we get to Christmas.  Today we have my DT inspiration project for this month’s challenge over on More Than Words…

today’s art . . .

Today’s offering is this (very) mixed media card that I made as my DT inspiration for MTW Mini Challenge for December where the word inspiration is DREAM. You can find the challenge details at the end of this post, do join in if you feel inspired.

I don’t have any step-by-step photos for you today as I was working at night and the light was terrible – no good for photos – but I can tell you a little bit about the card.  This was made from a masterboard using various Fresco chalk paints including Cerise, Gold, Guacamole, Heavy Cream and Snowflake.  On top of that I added Blackcurrant Infusions – such a gorgeous rich colour it makes!

This frame is from a Gwen Lafleur set (EGL14) by Paperartsy and it was stamped with Delicata gold ink and then fussy cut.

I added the strip of sari silk and banana yarn across the centre of the page, and then attached the beads using thread.  I also added the little teal thread nest by sewing it on and then after adding the washi tape strip, attached the metal butterfly by sewing it onto the card.

After I was done with all of that, I still felt like something was missing.  I left it overnight while I gave it some thought and in the morning decided I would add some stamping using a dream definition stamp which I think is from Visible Image.  I used Cerise and Gold Fresco paint for the stamping.

This little strip of washi tape was something I carefully peeled off a package that a friend had sent to me.  I thought it would be perfect to use on this card.

Although it probably doesn’t look like it in the photo, all the edges of this stamped fussy cut frame have been darkened with a black Pitt pen so there are no raw white edges visible.

In this photo, I’ve tried to capture as much of the shine as possible from the various elements.  You can also see the background stamped words showing up quite well here too.

And that’s the finished card for this month’s challenge.  I hope you feel inspired to join in the challenge this month.  This mini challenge is held in the Art Cafe Facebook Group which you can find here.

Let me know what you think in the comments.   As always, thanks for reading!Ingredients

Elle, what a wonderfully dreamy background to set off all the details over it. Great textures and color. Thanks for adding this make to the Creative Artiste Challenge blog.
