Hello friends!
I have a quick post today to share this journal page I finished the other night, though the page itself was something I started last year, did nothing with, and then decided I would paint over it and turn it into something else! So I am again using up some leftover bits and pieces to turn them into one page.
Today’s Art . . .
Today’s art is (of course) another cat page I made for Neet’s theme this month on Art Journal Journey. This one has A LOT of cats lol and so the poor dog is feeling a bit outnumbered! The cats are one stamp that I stamped out on white card years ago with the intention of making a card but didn’t, and the dog is a diecut that I cut out on my Big Shot, also years ago, in vinyl, and then did nothing with it. You will see in the photo below that it was green vinyl.
This photo also shows (partly) the original background where I had been testing out some metallic paint and writing meow all over the page, but then decided to gesso over it, but since it was watercolour, it mixed and I ended up with this weird colour, which along with the green dog and the cat collective really wasn’t working.
I did my best to turn it into a cohesive page by adding the greenery and tress and then colouring the sky blue. Then I painted the green vinyl black which looked much better.
No wonder the dog is feeling outnumbered, I think there are 42 cats watching him from the other side of the page!
Let me know what you think in the comments. As always, thanks for reading!

Art Journal Journey – Fur/Feathers
Hi Elle, guess what kind of lovely surprise landed in my mailbox today? Thank you for the lovely kitty card – that is so sweet of you! I love the card, but even more I love that you have thought of me. Thank you so so much! As you can see, that card made it here in one week.
This page is lovely, outnumbered is the fitting title for it. Your said the cats is a stamp, would you mind telling me which company made this stamp? It is gorgeous.
Elle, that is just too cute.
Wow, I love this page with its many cats. Outnumbered is certainly the word for that poor terrier. It’s a great idea and good that you could fall back on something from a previous time. The dog actually looks black, like a Black Scottie, on the first and third photograph.
Love how you painted the background and I think the way you blotted out the words has made a lovely patterned background.
I think you hold the record for the most fur – 42 cats and a dog!
Hugs, Neet xx
I have that die cut of the dog too. It’s a very cute one. Of course not as cute as all those fun colored kitties. Depending on the pup’s personality, he might think those cats would be fun to chase. Thanks for linking up for Neet’s challenge at AJJ. I hope you have a great rest of the month. hugs-Erika
