Hello friends, and Happy November!
Since it is the first of the month, I am sharing my DT inspiration project for the November Main challenge at More Than Words with you.
The main challenge this month is as follows:
As usual there is a word inspiration and a creative challenge, this month the word is FACE and the creative challenge is to use some kind of monoprinting.
Here’s a look at the selection of (old) gel prints I pulled out to work with – some of these have been kicking around for a few years so it was good to use them up.
After I had stuck everything down, my page looked like this. Then I added some stencilling with black paint and had to turn my page sideways because the magazine image I wanted to use was too tall otherwise.
To finish off my page I added some doodling with a white pen and this quote (apparently) by Lauren Bacall.
I think your whole life shows in your face and you should be proud of that – Lauren Bacall
Hope you feel inspired to join in the challenge this month!
T Stands For . . . Coffee, toffee, treacle scones and Halloween cards!
I’m joining the T Gang today with my Cat Mum mug of coffee and treacle scones. If you missed the weekend posts, then I made treacle toffee at the weekend and also another batch of treacle scones, both are delicious if you like that sort of thing, and I do!
Treacle Toffee is sometimes called Bonfire Toffee and is traditionally made for Guy Fawkes night on 5th November, but we always made it for Halloween since we don’t do Guy Fawkes, bonfires or fireworks. Treacle Tart is also delicious as is Treacle Steamed Pudding.
EDIT: for those who aren’t familiar with treacle here’s some info straight from the source at Lyle’s Black Treacle.
I also received some lovely Halloween cards from some lovely friends, including one from the lovely Jo @let’s art journal – thanks Jo! You can see Jo’s card in the middle of the bottom row.
Each one of these cards features a black cat on it, isn’t that cool! I also received a postcard with these very cool Dracula postage stamps on it.
And let’s not forget Miss P who is enjoying becoming a couch cat! She’s been sleeping in this room at night as it’s getting cold but she ignored the cat bed and opted for the sofa instead!
Have a great week! Let me know what you think in the comments.
As always, thanks for reading!Ingredients

Challenges
I’m attempting to join a couple of daily creating challenges this month but I’m not going to beat myself up if I miss a day or ten since I have just completed a daily challenge and might need a break. This part of the year seems to speed up in the countdown to Christmas so we’ll see what I can manage to squeeze in. I see I can also join in with Art Journal Journey again with this post and have linked below.
More Than Words – November Main Challenge – Face and Monoprinting
Art Journal Journey – Collage Fodder or Food & Drink – I choose collage fodder

I love your monoprints and that fabulous page you created Elle.
Happy November,
Alison
Fun post, Elle. I adore the cards you received and those cool Halloween stamps.
Your journal page is fabulous. Great details in the background, super cool girl, and the quote is sooooo positive (one I needed right now as my face is showing a lot more these days).
Darling kitty.

Just had to call in to say thank you for the theme at AJJ last month. Thoroughly enjoyed it, it certainly stretched the old brain a bit.
Love your journal page, great use of block colour, I think you had fun creating this from those prints.
Take care, Hugs, Neet xx
Your page is fantastic and a great way to use gelli prints (I have loads too) Brilliant quote! I love anything with treacle (sadly don’t indulge much being diabetic)I remember hanging around by my Mum waiting to lick the treacle spoon when she was baking.

I never tried the geli prints yours are really pretty, and yum those halloween treats look delicious enjoyed seed your halloween cards too hugs from the lake kathy
I have never had treacle, but it looks really good.
Your piece is so pretty with all the colors! And I love the stamps on that postcard, so cool.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
How nice you were able to use some of those gel prints. I have a gelli, but I never use it. Guess I should, since it works so well with collage fodder. Nice to see the challenge that included a face and gel print. I sure works well for Bleubeard’s theme at AJJ, too.
Still love your cat mum mug. Love it a lot. Of course, I wrote earlier about the treacle scones and candy. Thanks for sharing your mug, your art, and the adorable Miss P with us for T this Tuesday, dear friend.
BTW, do you remember the postage stamps you used on the postcard you sent me? I have used them and will show it on Friday.
I am also doing AEDM and Treasure Trovember. For the latter, I will only post once a week.
I am loving your latest page. I like how you made your background, and the white around that styling lady. The stamping is great too. Thanks for joining us at AJJ. And I like those Count Dracula stamps. They look like lots of fun. And nice cards too. I hope November has started off well for you. hugs-Erika
the treacle scones sound delicious. Love all your black cat Halloween cards and those stamps are faboolous! Happy T Day
Gosh, that was some challenge! You really created a beautiful page.
I know treacle. having lived in the UK and I used to bake a treacle tart with a recipe from Tate & Lyle. Very nice it was too.
I love seeing you Miss P lolling about and I also enjoyed seeing those awesome stamps.
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
