Hello friends, and Happy December!
Since it is the first of the month, I am sharing my DT inspiration project for the December Main challenge at More Than Words with you.
The main challenge this month is as follows:
This page started off with a base of gesso and pastel, something I have been experimenting with lately and this wintery blue colour was just what I was after. Once that was dry, I also added a layer of glittery white texture paste but it’s very difficult to capture in a photo!
Once that was dry, I cut out a whole lot of snowflakes using a Tim Holtz Sizzix snowflake die set and using some metallic blue cardstock.
I filled the big empty space in the middle with the words “may the festive season sparkle and shine” using a gold pen and added some gold splatter to the page.
I am also joining in with this month’s theme at Art Journal Journey where Jo from Let’s Art Journal is hosting here theme Snowy Winter.
As always, thanks for reading!Ingredients
my handmade journal, watercolour paper, pastel, gesso, metallic cardstock, TH snowflake die, glitter texture paste, gold paint, gold pen, pencil,

This is great Elle.Nice sparkle and metallic paper snowflakes is a super idea. You also captured the feel of snow falling. I love the idea of sparkle and gesso together. They are both part of my art vocabulary. Thanks for sharing this with us at Jo’s wintery challenge at AJJ. And happy new month. Hopefully the kitties will be well. hugs-Erika
