Hello friends!
I am so behind with everything that I even forgot what date it was today! Good news though is that Miss Lily is feeling a little better today so I will finish this post quickly and then go and see if I can get her to eat something.
Second on the Second
And that brings me to the reason for today’s post. Bleubeard and Elizabeth’s Second on the Second Challenge asks that you bring back a post that you’re proud of or an old one that was shared before anyone knew of your blog. The post I chose for Second on the Second today is one from December 2019 which was all about Christmas gifts – which is funny because this year I am so behind with everything that I haven’t made anything yet not even a card! I really need to get my skates on!

Hi friends,
Happy Christmas! I hope Santa was good to you this year and you got everything you ever wanted!
I thought I would post a Crafty Christmas update after the big day as I didn’t want anyone to see their presents before they actually received them!
This year, because I have been struggling with back problems I wasn’t able to do all the sewing and knitting I needed to do in order to make the gifts I planned to make, so I had to change my plans and think of things that I could make in the time that I had available without putting too much strain on my back!
I started with something easy and made these gift tags using an older Tim Holtz stamp set called Watercolor Trees.
I decided on hampers with lots of handmade items inside that were quicker to make, candles, cookies, Scottish tablet etc. Then I used various stamps and diecut the Christmas word to put on a box that would hold the candles and go in the hamper.
I made “12 Days of Christmas” candles with all lovely Christmas scents and painted the tins in Christmas colours.
All the family got one of these hampers but my mother got some other things instead of the candles, including this crocheted scarf I made for her and a special altered notebook for the Cat Grannie, which is what she calls herself sometimes lol.
Here’s a closer look at the cover…
This notebook is made in the same way as the previous altered notebooks I made earlier in the year, and you can see them plus tutorials in this post and this post and this post and this post or if you just want to see all the notebooks and not read the posts, here they are…
Till next time,

I really LOVED this second look because t was a first look for me. Those candles were to die for and the notebooks were amazing. You must have a lot of lovely dies. Just fabulous gifts from Christmas past. Thanks beyond belief for sharing this Second look on the 2nd, dear Elle.
Look like your being creative.
Coffee is on and stay safe
It looks like you managed a hand made Christmas pretty well to me. I only created something for a couple of people. I hope to make a few cards in a last minute flourish. I’m off to see your notebooks, I can always plan ahead. Lol.
It was fun to see what you did end up making Elle. I love those fun book covers. Who would complain getting a pretty journal? It was great to see this post, and I hope this December is going well. (It must be if Miss Lily is doing a little better. Hugs-Erika
