Hi Friends,
Finally I can share the last three days of my Care December journal! The weather is affecting the amount of decent daylight for photos and then I decided to move furniture around in the art room which caused/is causing/still causing more delays due to stuff being in all the wrong places until I sort it out.
Today’s Art . . .
About today’s pages:
Care December Day 19 White Icing
The icing on the cake I guess. I prefer marzipan and icing on my Christmas cake, and depending on where you are from, perhaps you would like a slice of cheese with it?
Here’s a look at what the double page spread now looks like:
Care December Day 20 Giving Thanks
Giving thanks for a peaceful, quiet festive season, no snow and the temperatures being generally warmer than that cold snap we had the other week.
Care December Day 21 Mood Board
This was a bonus day and Kasia did a mood board for 2023. I can’t think that far ahead so I concentrated on the winter mood board I used for this journal.
And here’s a look at this final double page spread that completes my Care December journal for 2022.
About the journal: This entire journal is made from handmade paper and all the negative pieces leftover from diecutting all those Christmas cards a few weeks ago. I was using A4 paper for all the diecutting and so I was left with all of that diecutting waste, so I decided I would use it for the background of my pages. On top of that I sprayed either Infusions, or Distress Oxide or a combination of both, so for a change the inside of my journal has a consistent look! I am also using some old paper that I found in a drawer, it’s a book of hmm I guess like a cardmaking kit, so there are lots of elements that you are supposed to assemble into cards. It cost me £3 years ago and I liked the wintry images, so I figured I would try and use it up in this journal and see how it went. I also typed out all the daily prompts and printed them out and glued them to each page.
Since this page contains wintry, Christmas motifs, snowflakes, lots of white, (and even a rocking horse for Bleubeard and Elizabeth) I am also sharing it with Jo’s theme of Snowy Winter over on Art Journal Journey (link below). Thanks for hosting this great theme this month Jo and sorry I haven’t made as many pages I would have liked for the theme due to the usual December craziness. Hopefully you haven’t been too bored looking at all my very similar looking pages from this journal. I enjoyed exploring the consistency of colours and motifs and using minimal supplies. This is the antidote to my #Dephemerember journal which has everything but the kitchen sink in it, and my Art Journal Advent journal which follows a different theme.
Let me know what you think in the comments. As always, thanks for reading!

Art Journal Journey – Snowy Winter
You had me at rocking horse, Elle. Yes, I love this mood board and your beautiful winter wishes. It’s great you got to finish this Care December journal and use all those extra die cut scraps in the process. Great recycling and wonderful art at the same time. Thanks for a final awesome entry for Jo’s theme at AJJ. Your journal ROCKS!! Pun NOT intended.
Want to see what you for the new year.
Coffee is on and stay safe
I like how this second page has so many bits and pieces as it tells a very rich story around a winter holiday. At least it looks that way to me-smile. Plus it is very holiday festive. And the first page definitely feels like winter. I like them both. THanks for sharing these with us at AJJ for Jo’s challenge. And happy rest of 2022. And Happy 2023 also. I hope you have a great weekend Elle. Hugs-Erika
Always such beautiful art. I want to thank you for being part of my blogging world. I wish you all the very best for 2023.
Another set of beautiful pages! Of course the robins are my favourite :-). I’ve so enjoyed seeing all your amazing page designs, it’s been such a pleasure to have you join my challenge theme this month at AJJ, you are such an inspiration – thank you so much! Wishing you all the very best for 2023, Happy New Year! Hugs Jo x
