Happy April everyone!
Since it is the very first day of the month, I am excited to share my DT inspiration project for April at More Than Words with you. I’m really looking forward to this month’s challenge since we are also celebrating Earth Day this month, so plenty of scope for eco-friendly journal pages! Here’s mine…
The challenge this month is as follows:
The first thing I thought of was of course my garden, since it’s organic, and I practice, no-dig, permaculture, with lots of reusing and recycling happening there, composting etc.
I cut out some garden images from magazines and compiled them to create a version of my dream garden. Compare the finished page above with the untouched magazine images below, before they were pasted down on my page.
I used mostly acrylics to blend the images together and to paint over them to make one seamless scene. I added more red hot pokers to the ones at the top of the page, more tulips to the pot of tulips in the middle of the page and more daffodils to the field on the right side of the page, plus lots of other little tweaks and changes, before adding some relevant words to the page. You may be able to find one or two comfortable places to sit and enjoy a cup of tea – there is also a pot of tea at the top of the page!
I added some journalling across the page using a white pen and outlined a few of the words to make them stand out more. Then I added some splatters and drips and some finishing touches and the page was complete.
As always, thanks for reading!Ingredients

Wow, Elle, I love how you did this. I wish I could have watched you make it! Lovely images and the scene is fabulous!!! Hugz
I love how the More Than Words challenge goes perfectly with Bleubeard and Elizabeth’s Art Journal Journey challenge this month! Your page is absolutely beautiful, Elle! The garden picutres and gorgeous – it makes me want to get into my garden. But I’ll have to wait till it gets a little warmer here. Thanks for sharing your talents!!! Hugs, Sharon
Oh, a garden! How wonderful (we have but a small balcony, but that´s fine, too – I´ll plant wildflowers come warmer weather).
Ingo´s Granma grew beans and pumpkins, tomatoes and such.
And the compost – it had it´s own “terrain”! To living with nature, have a great (Easter-) weekend.
If I hadn’t seem it with my own eyes, I would never have believed how that page morphed into that beautiful journal entry. Seamless and flawless, it has turned into a genuine beauty. Thanks for sharing this with Bleubeard and me using our theme at Art Journal Journey, Elle. This is stunning.
And I didn’t see that’s you’d linked this up to AKK, so thank you for doing that. This page is perfect for Elizabeth’s challenge. hugs-Erika
This is great Elle. I love this page because anything with a garden and green is so appealing. Sorry to read you had some health issues last month. And Happy belated April, and Happy Easter weekend to you also. hugs-Erika
Very interesting how you responded to the prompt.
Have a happy weekend
Much?love
Another fabulous page for Elizabeth’s AJJ theme. I have been looking through my old gardening mags too! Hugs, Chrisx
Wow Elle! This is just stunning. Well done my friend. Have a lovely day today.
Such a beautiful page! I love how you recycled the images and wording, and you put everything together so beautifully ?. I hope you are keeping well and apologies for my absence, life gets in the way sometimes. Wishing you a wonderful April! Hugs, Jo x
