Happy Tuesday Friends!
Well we just had a nice three day weekend, a bonus Monday off, to celebrate the Coronation. The weather wasn’t bad over the weekend until yesterday when it decided to rain very heavily. I spent some time in the garden doing some planting on Sunday, Miss P was sunbathing again…
We also have a stray who has appeared in the garden, at least I assume he’s a stray because he’s very scruffy, and surely if he was someone’s cat he would not look like this.
His white bits are very dirty so I am a bit worried about him, if he’s not able to look after himself. I offered him some food. All the other cats in the garden ignored him completely, which cats often do when another cat is unwell. I haven’t seen him since Sunday. I’m thinking about calling the Cat Protection people for advice.
Today’s Art . . .
Today’s art is a page for AJJ’s May theme of flowers that I made at the weekend. I have also been receiving the emails about Messy May and one of the prompts at the weekend was “patchwork” so that was the inspiration for this page.
I’m still reorganising stuff upstairs but I came across some boxes of notecards and cut some up into little squares and roughly arranged them on my page to get something I liked. When I was done there was a total of 61 squares stuck down on the page, lots of them have florals on them. I did a bit of outlining and added some black and white splatters on top and called it done.
Currently Reading . . .
I’m currently reading this book which is the second book in a series about vampires in New York City. I’ve been rummaging through my books and pulling out some that I, for whatever reason, haven’t read yet, despite having them for some years.
After re-reading The Day of the Triffids, I really wanted to re-read The Night of the Triffids, and went off to look for it. When I found that book, I also found this series, and got started after I finished The Night of the Triffids. I realise I am talking more about the book I read at the weekend rather than the current book, but it is such a good book and if you liked The Day of the Triffids then you will love The Night of the Triffids. It was written to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Triffid book, and written in the same narrative style as the first book, but obviously by a different author, Simon Clark. It also won the British Fantasy Society’s Best Novel for 2002.

T Stands For . . .
Yesterday I found a whole bunch of crocheted flowers I made years ago and were leftover from some other project. So I sewed them together and made a cosy for my teapot, so now they have a home instead of taking up space in a drawer, and my teapot is cosy.
Let me know what you think in the comments. As always, thanks for reading and Happy T Day!
Wow, thanks for sharing this with us at AJJ, this is an awesome page, the design pattern just leaps off the page and looks very cool to boot! XOX
Hi Elle, thanks for your email. I’ve sent a reply and was wondering if you would be so kind to send all the details as I only have a week to complete for submission as requested. Many thanks and I hope you are keeping well. Hugs, Jo x
Yes, prices are up here too. But I would never buy tea for 4 pounds!
I love your tea cosy made out of crocheted flowers. Good idea.
That stray looks quite rough. I know nothing about cats, but logic tells me that if it is not grooming itself, there must be something wrong.
Sorry for the late comment,
Have a lovely weekend,
Hugs,
Lisca
We are cutting down on some food items so that we can still afford the things (we think) we can’t do without! The stray does look sorry for itself- I hope it doesn’t have something your other cats might catch. It might just be missing someone and want some love – I do hope that’s all it is! I love this page – I have so many papers I could make something similar myself! Thanks for sharing at AJJ, hugs, Chrisx
I love your flower page Elle. It’s really gorgeous, and all the elements combine perfectly with each other. Hope you had a lovely T-day. Your cat is so cute. Yes, I would also call a protector to take this lovely black kitten, perhaps he needs special care.
Your teapot is wonderful with all those beautiful crocheted flowers! I have got the same teapot as you 🙂 and I love it.
Have a great Thursday,
Big hugs, Caty
I love what you did with the found note cards. Beautifully done. Love the teapot cozy, too. I am sorry to be way late! Happy belated T Day!
I am with you on not buying some things due to prices! Also somethings we buy a lot of so we have soe protection from rising prices – especially if they are on sale. We have tons of green beans in the pantry.
Love your art – so cool. I think I might try that patchwork technique.
Wonderful tea cozy – I am impressed with your flowers.
Hope the kitty is ok.
Happy T-day a bit late, Elle. Hugz
Did that little straz cat come back to zour garden_ S/He looks a bit rough – I jope s/he is okay. Great creative way of turning the crochet flowers in a tea cosy, it looks very cute. I like your page with all the little squares and rectangles. And I’m with you when it comes to prices getting up over and over again. Will it ever stop?
I’m with Miss P and the sunshine. I hope the stray kitty is okay. I bet the crochet flowers are happy to have a real purpose as a tea cozy, and they go with your patchwork theme, too. Happy T Day
I love the photo of Miss P. She looks very relaxed! Sad to see the stray, I hope he comes back, and you’re able to help him Elle.
Your patchwork page looks wonderful, and I love your new tea cosy.
