Hi Friends!

It’s the beginning of June and so I have my calendar journal page to share with you below

Today’s Art . . .

For this month’s page I used two of my favourite art supplies – tissue paper and metal dies.  This tissue paper is a very recent purchase (this week in fact).  I was shopping for a birthday present for a friend and spotted this in the gift wrap aisle and couldn’t help myself.  It was also a shop that has a lot of discounted prices so it was very cheap so I didn’t feel so bad about buying MORE ART SUPPLIES lol.

As I mentioned previously, I am recycling an old A4 Leuchtturm 1917 bullet journal so it is necessary to somehow cover up what was already written on some of the pages.  This page started with some paint covering all the old stuff, but then since I had this new tissue paper, I wanted to use it, so I pasted pieces of it on top of the paint which was an aqua colour and as you can see it shows through the paper, making it a slightly different colour.

To try and match the stars on the paper, I die cut a LOT of numbers from some metallic cardstock.  I thought I was done but then realised I should probably also cut some letters for the days and month.  This is quite an old, retired die set that does a double cut of each number so you get the solid number and an outline number at once.  I used the solid numbers for the calendar numbers but you can see in the finished page that I used both the solid and the outline for the month.  The days of the week letters came from the same set but the letters for the month name were from a different set, much larger, and also a double cut set.  Solid June along the top and outline June down the left side. I drew on some extra bigger gold stars with a gold gel pen and outlined the solid June word along the top of the page to help it stand out more.

Miss Lily was not really very impressed and wished that I get this book out of her face so she can get back to some important napping.

This page works for the current theme of ART SUPPLIES for More Than Words and I am also linking this page to this month’s theme of NUMBERS hosted by Matilde over on Art Journal Journey as my June calendar page contains 55 individually die cut metallic numbers.  Can I even begin to tell you how boring it was gluing all of these little numbers and letters down on this page lol.  Fiddly fiddly fiddly.

Let me know what you think in the comments.  As always, thanks for reading!Ingredients

I would say I don’t know how I missed this but it has been a bit of a busy time lately so I do apologise. The tissue does look great and clearly a worthwhile spend. Thanks for sharing at AJJ, hugs, Chrisx

Hose are great art supplies. I am finally using my metal dies more than I had for quite awhile ? and that’s a great use of numbers too. Nice calendar- and happy weekend to you. And before I forget, thanks for linking up to Matilda’s challenge at AAA too. Hugs Erika
