Hi Friends!
Today was a busy day, I’ve spent a lot of it stacking wood, and driving around chasing the postman as I didn’t hear him knock on the door this morning and so he left a card to say they would redeliver, BUT I knew it was my new stamp set and I really wanted to get it today so I put my coat on over my PJs and jumped in the car. I drove around a couple of streets till I spotted him, and he noticed me right away and grabbed the package. I didn’t even have to get out of the car. My new stamp set is this one from Paperartsy, I want to use it for Halloween:
Isn’t she great? Very Wednesday Addams.
Here’s a great photo of Miss Lily chilling out with a tub of catnip next to the stove last night, between the catnip and the heat of the stove she was zonked lol.
Today’s Art . . .
Today’s art is another page for my theme on Art Journal Journey for this month – Books, Cats and Tea, which are three of my very favourite things. Here comes page 21, a cat, book and tea page…
I’m so glad I remembered this paper bag that I saved from my trip to Holland where I visited my friend and we went to this bookshop. I also found this #sharetheloveofreading part of a cardboard box from a book order here, and saved it too to use this month, though I forgot to add it to this page!
This page is full of little bits and pieces saved or leftover or discovered, like these cute trees from the back of a paper bag I got my medication in from the chemist recently.
The two white cat heads are saved from cat food we no longer buy. The little black cat head was something I was testing months ago on a piece of watercolour paper, so I cut it off and stuck it on the page. The black and white striped card came from a gift bag I used earlier in the year on another journal page for Erika’s Seeing Red theme (Feb), the red circles and red hearts were cut from gelli printed scraps, there is also a postage stamp and the lime green card is also scraps.
I used one of Alison Bomber’s Shakespeare stamps to stamp over the white paper bag in grey, and then splashed tea all over the page to grunge it up a little bit and less stark white. Then I took a white pen and did some journalling in the black L shape.
Here’s a surprise! I even managed a tag today. I saw on Erika’s post that she had made a tag for Tag Tuesday and that the theme was Silhouettes. I thought I could probably manage to do that with a little cat silhouette. I grabbed one of these old gel printed tags I did ages ago, and drew the little cat on it. Since she was looking up, I gave her something to look at, and used one of the leaves I stamped the other day.
Did I tell you how much I love yellow-green or chartreuse? Well I do! My kitchen is also painted this colour 🙂
Let me know what you think in the comments. As always, thanks for reading and Happy Journalling!

Your new stamp set is awesome! I love Wednesday. Your journal pages and tag are equally awesome. I love how you detailed where you got all the bits and things from. Very green to repurpose. The yellow-green is such a happy color and the joy of it comes through your art. Happy T Day
Oh wow, Elle, I love this cat book and tag!!! Such delightful elements you saved and combined into something super delightful. LOVE THEM.
Also, your story of chasing your stamp set was fun too. I love that set too – how fun to have a set like that for Halloween or any time. The candle would work for lots of things as would the ink well and pen. I can’t wait to see what you make with it. I would have chased it too. LOL.

I had a big grin on my face at the thought of your in your PJ’s and coat driving around to find the postie. Well done you! Mind you, if I was waiting for that Wednesday child stamp I think I might have done something similar. It’s a brilliant stamp isn’t it?
Love your page, very spooky shade of green for October.
I notice Miss Lilly is flat out on a cushion in the same spooky green, which we all know is lime green really.
Great tag!

Oh that comes from Holland indeed. (It has .nl at the end of the website).
I love your cat silhouette. Beautiful.
Happy T-Day,

Yes I would chase down the post person too. What great stamps. I really like them and can’t wait to see what you create. Ohhhh that shade of green is superb. I love it. You are so talented. Have a lovely day today.
That is absolutely brilliant. I love the shade of green, very spooky yet elegant! Thanks for sharing with us at Tag Tuesday this week.
What a fabulous Tag, love that cat. Had to smile when you wrote you jumped in your car to find the postie, in your pj’s too, wonderful. Glad you caught up with him, lol.
Thank you for joining us at Tag Tuesday x
I had to laugh at the comment ” cat food WE no longer buy.” I can just see the cats telling you they don’t like that cat food. However, it made great fodder and adding the tag was genius. Another great entry for your theme at AJJ, dear.
Wow!!! Your tag is fantastic
Much?love
Very nice cat page and a fantastic idea for designing it, hug Elke
