Hi Friends!
Happy Saturday! It’s definitely a day for staying indoors today as the weather continues to be wet and wild. I do have to do some work around the house but hopefully I can find some time to lock myself away in the art room. I noticed a strange cat taking refuge from the weather in the outdoor cat kennel I have near the house. As soon as I open the door it shoots off down the garden so I’ve not been able to get a good look at it except to see that it’s tortoiseshell and might have a limp as it was running with a strange gait. I don’t mind that its there but I worry that it might be injured.
Today’s Art . . .
Today’s art is a journal page Neet’s theme this month on Art Journal Journey – In Gear. This one has a rusty old truck which must have some gears plus some engine innards – chain, cogs, etc!
This journal page started off as a card that I made in 2020 for a design team project using the chipboards. If you are interested in seeing the process read that post. As I mentioned in a previous post, I have a lot of artwork stored in boxes and last month I decided to pull some out and reuse/repurpose them. At least if they live in my journal I will see them more often and they will be more accessible. So I turned this card into a journal page. Since this is a landscape card it would not fit in my regular journal so I had to use my landscape journal. I painted the page with acrylic ink to match the colours of the card, then glued my card down on top.
Let me know what you think in the comments. As always, thanks for reading and Happy Journalling!

Art Journal Journey – In Gear
I absolutely adore this page- so clever to use the card on that spotty background. So pleased you shared at AJJ, hugs, Chrisx
Oh Elle, this is brilliant. I love this so much. From the colors to the rusty truck. Have a nice evening.
stunning page, I love the rusty truck
So lovely to have a cat visitor, I do hope he/she is ok ?. Your page is gorgeous, I love the amazing rust and patina that you created – perfect! Happy weekend! Hugs, Jo x
Oh i love that rusty truck. You are right, it has to have gears. I bet it is even loud when you drive it because it is old and may not have been greased and oiled regularly. And the chain with the gears is cool also. We also have wet weather today. I’m hoping for some art time also. Thanks for linking up to Neet’s challenge at AJJ. It’s fun seeing these repurposed cards too. Stay dry, hugs-Erika
Love your rusty truck, in fact it is fabulous and it certainly will have lots of gears and chains and things. Which points me to that chain you have on your page – that is super and I have never seen that before. Who does that die please? So useful to have.
As is the sentiment, such a great one to have around.
Thank you so much for joining in with my theme at AJJ again with this great page.
Hugs, Neet xx
