Happy new month everyone!

Since it is the very first day of the month, I am excited to share my DT inspiration project for November at More Than Words with you.

This month’s challenge is all about FAMILY and what it means to you.

For my project I started off with a couple of magazine images that I liked and thought went together.  I liked that the one on the left also used silhouettes and that it said Welcome Home in English and in Gaelic. The magazine came from a trip I did up North a few years back.  I also liked the really dark blue on both images and so I chose this really bright mauve for my background colour to contrast with the dark blue.  On top of that I added some gold blobs using a stencil and then some stamping with a dictionary page stamp and some grey ink.  I backed the images onto some card that I coloured black and glued them to the page.  To brighten up the page I added some white paint splatters. Finally I wrote out the quote that popped into my head and that I may well have made up.  I must look that up and see!

I hope you can join in this month, there’s a great prize up for grabs (see below).  Let me know what you think in the comments.  As always, thanks for reading and Happy Journalling!Ingredients

I like how you used the woman in the great sweater. It’s a super page, although as I work on my Icelandic sweater it makes me think of how I messed up and had the pull the bottom of the body apart the other night. Smile. Oh well. I only had an inch done of it. Happy November. hugs-Erika

I never thought of doing page in art, on family.
