Hello friends and Happy Friday!
Today I am Guest Designer over on the Creative Artiste Challenge blog where it is all mixed media all the time.
today’s art. . .
I’m very happy to share this card with you today as my Guest Designer project for Creative Artiste’s Challenge #103 this month!
Creative Artiste is a Mixed Media challenge blog so I made sure to use lots of different mediums on my page. The full list of what is used is at the bottom of the post along with the link to the challenge.
This was going to be a journal page initially, as I had some gel printed backgrounds already prepared to go into my journal, I just wasn’t happy with how it looked, so I decided to change it up and give it a Distress Oxide background instead and make it into a card. (Although it’s a card that I can definitely see going inside a journal one day soon!) Alice’s dress has a layer of sari silk fluff underneath it like a petticoat – it was on my table so I decided to use it and the colour was perfect to go with her dress. With all those greens and blues around, I needed some contrast so I added the black and white washi tape. The Alice stamp and the large ART letters are from Carabelle Studio.
Hope you feel inspired to join in the challenge this month.
Let me know what you think in the comments. As always, thanks for reading!Ingredients

Creative Artiste – Challenge #103
this is just beautiful!
I like this card very much. Great design and wonderful colors.
Love it. The design and colours are perfect. Thank you for being our guest designer this month at Creative Artist. You are inspiring. Judy Dt
Welcome to the blog this month as our Guest Designer. What a fabulous piece – I love the added material you have behind Alice’s dress. The addition of the washi tape as someweere to ground her is also a great idea. Such lovely spring like colours too with the yellow and green.
Elle, this is just wonderful! I totally have times when I’m unhappy with my background too, and I then repurpose it or start over. You’ve done an awesome job with your journal-page-turned-card–I love all the layers going on in there. The sari silk fluff is a genius idea, and it totally transforms Alice! The black and white contrast is a lovely touch too. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful project with us as our guest designer this month!
Congrats for being this month’s guest designer Elle. I think this tag is great too. Have a super weekend. hugs-Erika
Lovely to see you in the Guest Designer seat again Elle and what a treat you have created for our eyes. Wonderful colours all so coordinated, I’ve always adored that Carabelle Alice stamp, so clean and crisp in line. The sari silk underskirt is a genius idea, glad it was just waiting to be found on your table. Beautiful work, thank you so much for creating it for us this April.
Wishing you a happy crafty month Hugs Tracey xx
