Hi Friends!

Happy Tuesday!  Hope you are having a good week.  Here was the beautiful sunset I saw from the window last week and my neighbour’s trees in bloom.

I don’t have much to write about because I am still on crutches for at least another six weeks and I am still not able to do much or get around very well.  They are talking about different scans and referrals but things move slowly here with the NHS sometimes.  So here we are at the end of April and I have been on crutches since mid February!  I am getting through a lot of books and crochet but not much else.

Some little Narcissus are braving the elements to show their faces and I can see them from the back door, even though I can’t venture into the garden yet.

Today’s Art  (?) . . .

I’ve been working on and off on this blanket since January or BC (before crutches).  I had completed all of the squares but hadn’t started putting it together, but since I had so much free time on my hands…

The squares are joined together using CJAYG  (crochet join as you go) method and I had plenty of time to work on that and then to work on the pom pom trim.  I ran out of black yarn with only two pom poms left to do and the yarn came from Denmark but luckily it only took 6 days for the new ball to arrive and I was able to finish it on Saturday.

If you like this blanket and want to make one, here is a link to the free pattern by Nautikrall Crochet complete with a few videos to show some of the techniques.  The blanket uses Wool of the Andes yarn but I had to use a different yarn that I could get here, cheaper and without import fees, so I used Tweed Delight by Hobbii who are based in Denmark but ship worldwide. They have plenty of sales so it’s easy to pick up yarn at good prices and I bought my yarn at 50% off.

…And here is the finished blanket – I had to clamp it to the doors to be able to take a photo of the whole blanket.  It’s not the best photo as it’s being pulled out of shape but it was the best I could do.

Currently Reading . . .

My current read/listen and probably the last one for April is this one by Shelley Burr, and it’s listed as the second one in the Lane Holland series, though Lane is not the primary focus of this book.  If you like murder mysteries set in rural Australia (AKA the outback) then you might enjoy this or some of my other reads this month.  As we are at the end of April this will be the last book I finish this month (though I have another lined up!)  It’s been another bumper month for reading, but I should also mention my March books since I haven’t been online to share them.

Kitty Spam . . .

The kitties also wanted to say hello!

Miss Lily on the left sticking her tongue out at Mr G.

Miss P blending in with her blanket.

Not my cat! (but wants to be?) One of my neighbour’s boys came to visit.

…and his brother (also not my cat lol)

T Stands For . . .

Oh yes, I need a photo for Tea!  I nearly forgot!  Here’s a photo of my dinner with my cat mum mug in the background.  Dinner was a baked potato with some homemade coleslaw, tomato, olives and jalapenos on top.

Let me know what you think in the comments.  I will be slow getting to everyone but I will get there.  I just can’t be at the computer for long.  As always, thanks for reading and Happy T Day!

What a bummer that you are still not able to get around. But you seem to fill your time productively (beautiful blanket) and leisurely (reading lots of good books). Thank you for telling us what you’ve been reading. I always like suggestions.
I love the cat photos although they are not all your cats. Who cares (the cats don’t).
And your jacket potato looks scrummy. I haven’t had a jacket potato for a long time. Good idea for this weekend.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

Sorry to be late visiting. I can’t believe how long it has taken to get an appointment and get off those crutches..

That is a fabulous afghan. Really lovey the way you finished it, too.. I was impressed you were able to get it on the doors with your crutches.. I know you will be glad to get back to the garden. I am sure it is a great place of solace to you.

I’ve never heard of any of these authors, but that is an incredibly impressive list.

Your baked potato sounds yummy and I always love seeing your Cat Mum mug. Thanks for the wonderful visit and for sharing your meal and drink with us for T this Tuesday, dear Elle..

Sorry to read you are still waiting for the appointment and still have a awhile to go. OI hope when you get there they can actually help. 🙂 Your quilt looks amazing. I really like the pompom edging. I guess if you have to look on the positive side it is good that you have lots of crochet and reading time. You’ve certainly gotten through a lot of them-but that’s never a bad thing, is it? And it’s great to see the kitties chilling out. They probably are happy to have you home with them. And guess what was in my mail today? Thank you for belated birthday card. I love it, and the paper too. Oh yes, and I can’t forget the HP stamps. I will share it next week for T. I hope you aren’t too antsy being home and on crutches. I hope it was a great T day too. hugs-Erika

Your granny square afghan is an amazing garden of flowers. Cuddles and headbutts to all the kitties, even the boys that are not yours. Happy T Day

That is one impressive afghan! We have a few that were made long ago, but I don’t know anyone who is currently crocheting. Also an impressive book llist.
