Happy New Month!
As it is the very first day of the month, I am excited to share my DT inspiration project for June at More Than Words with you.
This month’s challenge is all about using complementary colours on your page. Here is a handy tool to play with if you want to find the perfect complementary colour match. Select “complementary colours” from the colour combination selection box and then start clicking anywhere inside the colour wheel to display your two complementary colours. I played with this for quite a while before settling on magenta and lime green.
I am again working in my junk journal made from old amazon packing paper and this time I used the complementary colours to paint the background after first adding some white gesso to the page. I used Liquitex heavy body acrylic in Medium Magenta and Lime Green.
After that I played around with adding some ripped up gel prints until I found an arrangement I was happy with and then glued them all down with a Pritt stick. These are all prints I made during March Gelli Printing challenge..
Then I used some of Alison Bomber’s latest stamps from Paperartsy to add some wildflowers to the page.
And to finish up, I used the same stamp set to stamp the quotes on some white paper to add to my page.
And this month I am also joining Matilde from Craftowanie who is hosting this month at Art Journal Journey. Matilde is one of my Teamies from MTW DT – Hi Matilde! *waves* Matilde’s theme on AJJ this month is “What makes you happy” and what makes me happy apart from nature itself is seeing bright pink and lime green together. I am always drawn to those two colours in nature and art and sometimes other things – my kitchen is painted in a lime green/chartreuse colour and I have one very bright pink scarf that I’ve had for years and years but still wear quite often. It’s a difficult colour for me with my hair colour but I love this scarf so much that I don’t care. It’s also difficult to use in interiors unless you want the full Barbie pink experience but then maybe you do as the song says “Pink goes with everything!”
I hope you can join us this month. Let me know what you think in the comments below. As always, thanks for reading and Happy Journalling!Ingredients

Art Journal Journey – What makes you happy – June challenge
I’ve been on A blue and orange kick so hopefully I’ll be able to remember to join in. I’m glad you joined Matilde’s challenge at ajj. Thank you. And I love those complementary colors you used. They are lovely for this late spring time of year and I just love them together anyhow. I hope the one is improving. Happy June to you. Hugs Erika
I like how you used the gel; prints. They certainly made the background very interesting. The packing paper comes in quite handy and I love that you recycle that. The complimentary colors are great. This entry and your recycling also makes me happy, which is perfect for Matilde’s theme at Art Journal Journey.
Lovely page , gorgeous colours..
Lovely colours in your meditative piece, thanks so much for linking to AJJ, much appreciated!
