Hi friends!

I completely forgot about this month’s calendar journal page, what will posting all the #seekgathercreate and other stuff, and now here we are at the end of August  – oops!  This will be my last post for this month though you’d expect it to be the first!  Anyway, let’s take a look at the art…

Today’s art . . .

This is my August calendar page, posting a little later than planned, but here it is.  I went with a bees and wildflower theme for AJJ’s “Wonderfully Wild” theme hosted by Jo from Let’s Art Journal we have “wild” bees, butterflies and of course, wildflowers to fee the bees.

This is this same old A4 bullet journal as I have been using for all my calendar pages.  Some of them were still blank, some were written on.  Of the ones that were written on, some were easy to paint over, but others (for some reason) had a lot of highlighter on them and that stuff just bleeds through anything, so those pages have to be covered with paper.  This is one of those pages, so I used a few different papers from a collection about bees – the tag also comes from this collection.  It’s probably not really apparent from these photos, but the honeycomb patterned paper is metallic, and there are three other papers used around the outside.  I added some paint to blend them all together and then drew out my calendar, and added some washi stickers and some different splattery paints and inks. This photo was taken at 6pm though it is so dull, that you would think it was taken at night!  I might try and take another photo in the morning to see if that helps.

Let me know what you think in the comments below.   As always, thanks for reading and Happy Journalling!

You had me at bees. This is a lovely calendar Elle, and I the colors of perfect for August and late summer. There always seems to be some yellow during that month, not quite like fall, but still a yellow tone to everything. I’m glad you were able to join Jo one last time for the month, Thanks for linking up to AJJ. Happy weekend. hugs-Erika
