Hello Friends!

Well I’m sure you won’t believe but yes I am STILL on crutches…. for at least another month *sigh*.  Funny story, but actually not really, was that my car was due for service and MOT last week and they came to collect it and it wouldn’t start because of course not, no one had driven it for six months.  Then we got it jump-started and it wouldn’t move because the brakes had locked…. because no one had driven it for six months.  They had to leave without the car, I had to shell out ridiculous money to the breakdown service because apparently I didn’t have “breakdown at home” cover, probably because if you break down at home, it’s usually the battery, except when it’s not!  Then I had to get someone to come over and drive my car around every couple of days – after first putting them on my insurance – so that when the garage comes back to take the car for service, they will actually be able to drive it away!  Someone will have to keep driving it every so often to avoid this happening again because I AM STILL ON CRUTCHES and can’t drive  aaaarrrgghhh!

Anyhoo, I’m sure you’d much rather look at the art.  Today I am sharing two art journal pages that I made for this month’s #seekgathercreate Instagram challenge. This challenge consisted of four weekly challenges for the month of August.  You can find my first two pages here.  Oh and also I got bored and changed my website around – home page, blog page, colour scheme and the sidebar is back (only on the blog page, not the individual posts).  It’s dark purple, and has a Halloween vibe to it.

Hubble Bubble

Here is my page for Week 3 where the items were 1. colour fuchsia 2. bubbles 3. an eye 4. ruffles.  Yes I went there, I’m in Halloween mode!  All the new Halloween releases happen this month so depending on what you are watching, it’s everywhere.  I didn’t use anything new here, just some older stamps, some gel prints, and I drew my creepy eye tree.  If you are on instagram, I also made a little reel of her dancing.  For AJJ’s “Wonderfully Wild” theme hosted by Jo from Let’s Art Journal, I think this is a wild and spooky night in the forest, with some wild dancing and the definitely wild look in the eye of the tree. This page was made on the 23rd.

Ingredients:  gel prints, stamps, faceted jewels, pitt artist pens, acrylic inks, pink ruffles, Distress mica stain, posca paint pens, tissue paper, collage medium,

Wicked Boo

And here is my page for Week 4 where the items were 1. colour green, 2. a window 3. something blurry 4. a repeating pattern. This page was finished today.

Yes it’s another Halloween-inspired page, told you I’m in Halloween mode now lol.  So I used a printed paper (my design) for my background, it was a green bokeh but you can hardly tell now as I covered it with other stuff.  More green came from the Bubbling Cauldron mica stain and the green cardboard I used to cut out the words.  My windows are from an old sizzix bigz die and I used both the window and the negative leftover piece.  I also used a filmstrip die and a slide die both of which look like they could be windows too. The repeating pattern was made with a stencil, if you look above the Wicked word you can see the repeating arch pattern using distress oxide inks, also in greens, and finally for my “something blurry” check out the image in the left window, it’s blurry but it’s also the cover of a Blur album.  The background in the second window is a blurred bokeh background also.  The title of the page is Wicked Boo – Boo is the kitty in the window – she’s wicked but in a good way ie “she’s having a wicked good time” not “she’s wicked evil”.  For AJJ’s “Wonderfully Wild” theme hosted by Jo from Let’s Art Journal we have “wild” animals – cat, raven, bats, spider.

Ingredients:  background paper (my digital), various sizzix die cuts, neocolour crayons, posca pens, distress mica stain, archival ink, pitt artist pens, white gel pen, words are cut from recycled food packaging (apple pie box) , collage medium, splattery paint,

I would also like to include these pages in Creative Artiste’s Challenge #107, and have listed the ingredients used, challenge links below.

I love your halloween pages- I love halloween as a theme full stop. but your pages are absolutely fabulous. But what is this about you being on crutches? I must admit I have not been commenting on many blogs recently and must have missed this somehow but I am so sorry to hear about the dilemma you had with the car because of the crutches initially.
Oh dear, I am going to have to travel back to see what has happened. In the meantime, gkentle hugs are coming your way .
Hugs, Neet xx

I’m starting to think Halloween art myself. This is one big spooky eye, and I love the black cat int he doorway. It’s fun to go spooky every now and again, isn’t it? Especially come fall. And oh no about the car.. That sounds like a nightmare. You must be so frustrated with that, and that in many ways it seems like such a waste of money, but what can you do? You obviously want the car once you get off crutches. Boy, that health issue is bigger than just your own immobility and health. I hope you’re off your crutches soon. hugs-Erika
