Hello Friends!

I’m back with another birthday card for an August birthday!  This time it’s for an 18th birthday for female friend.

This was not the card I planned to make but I really like how it turned out.  I had ordered a new stamp set but it didn’t arrive in time to use it on the card so I had to improvise, and after that I started to wonder if I really needed that stamp set after all haha.  The original card idea involved the same type of rainbow background, but then using the stamp set over the top, but since that didn’t arrive on time, I needed something else to fill the space, so I pulled out some dies and got stuck into some die cutting.  I cut way more flowers and leaves than I needed for the card, and then spent an hour or so watercolouring them.  While that was drying, I die cut the letters which came from two different sets.  The large letters are from an old Bigz alphabet die set, and the Birthday word is from a different Sizzix set.  That one cuts the word all in one piece.  Once the flowers were dry, I formed them into a bouquet, tied it with some twine, and adhered it to the card along with the sentiment.  Then I splattered some Distress mica stain (flickering candle?) over the whole card.  Job done, though it did take a couple of hours!

Card Ingredients:  watercolour paper, metallic card stock, glitter card stock, Sizzix alphabet dies, Sizzix wildflower dies, Mijello watercolour paint, Distress Inks, Mica stain, Distress archival, jute twine, glue, double-sided tape,

Let me know what you think in the comments below.   As always, thanks for reading and Happy arting!Ingredients
