Happy Saturday!

Hope your weekend has been good so far.  I made this yesterday and took photos about 4pm and it seemed like there was enough good light but then when I went to upload them, they were too dark and couldn’t be fixed (to my satisfaction) in photoshop, so I retook the photos this morning in (slightly) better light.

Today’s art . . .

Today I am sharing a page I made yesterday using Maple leaves from my garden.  I went out to take some photos before it lost all of its leaves.  It can be quite a short window between it changing colour and dropping all its leaves, depending on the weather.  There were already quite a lot of them on the ground.

After picking the leaves, I started to adhere them to my page.  I started with texture paste as I had this idea of embedding them into the page but that started to get messy, so I went with my go-to of using matte medium.

What was interesting was that I accidentally created a bonus crackle effect on the page, a good example of which is shown below.

I used a couple of different acrylic inks on the page in yellows and purples, and then added some gold splatters to the page. I finished off by stamping a couple of quote stamps from Alison Bomber’s Paperartsy Autumn set in brown Stazon.

While I was in the garden, I also picked a few hydrangea bunches as they are in the middle of changing colour from blue to purple to brown.

I am joining Alison/Craftytrog with her theme of “Autumn Colours and Inspirationon Art Journal Journey.

Let me know what you think in the comments below.   As always, thanks for reading and Happy Journalling!Ingredients

That’s a gorgeous Maple Elle, and the leaves look great on your beautiful Autumn spread.
Thanks for joining in with me at AJJ.

Your page is gorgeous Elle, What a nice way to capture and hold onto those pretty maple leaves. We have a big sugar maple in the yard that is all turned right now, and it will all be bare in a matter of days too, even if we have no wind. I love the colors of your background too, and those are wonderful quotes. I think I have the same set of stamps. And I love how hydrangeas do that color change. They make a great show even when they dyng back for the winter. Thanks for joining Alison’s challenge at AJJ, and have a super weekend. hugs-Erika
