Hi Friends!
Hope your weekend was good. We had some scary windy weather yesterday due to Storm Ashley, but luckily it seems to have passed now. It’s my least favourite kind of weather – to destructive! The kitties don’t like it either and Miss P was outside for a grand total of 20 mins yesterday, just long enough to do secret cat business and make a run for the door!
Today’s art . . .
Today I have two things to share with you. The first is this page I made for the #scrappy8challenge over on Instagram where the October prompt was “Textile Fusion” and I am also joining Alison/Craftytrog with her theme of “Autumn Colours and Inspiration“ on Art Journal Journey. The second is a Halloween card I made from leftovers and a bit of recycling which you can find on this post. I am sharing both with Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenge #109 and with Try it on Tuesday’s Halloween challenge.
These pages are all square and made from cardboard from the recycling. I used some fabric scraps, this cool skull damask cotton, some “mummy” type white cloth and some black lace.
I already had these leaves made last week (I used the diecut leftovers in my October calendar page), and I also made some of the cotton fabric into buttons.
There are more leftover diecut letters and numbers in white and the negative piece cut from an old pink bookmark cut using the Happy Halloween die.
When I was tidying up some drawers I found this little stamped pumpkin which must have been an extra from old Halloween cards from 2018 so it was nice to find a place for him.
Skull damask fabric and buttons (sweet packet used in a card – see other post)
I also had a little companion in the form of Miss Lily who was really happy to be back in her spot to supervise the arting!
Let me know what you think in the comments below. As always, thanks for reading and Happy Journalling!Ingredients
Page: recycled cardboard. skull damask fabric, black lace fabric, white loose weave fabric, diecut leaves, buttons, Distress Inks and Foundry Wax on the leaves, glue, collage medium, doubled sided tape, fabric glue, leftover diecuts from other projects, pink and gold acrylic ink,

Wow, what a beautiful vintage style Halloween make! I love all the fabric and texture that you created, those leaves are amazing ?. Thanks so much for joining in the fun at Try it on Tuesday! Hugs, Jo x
Love your Halloween project. Lots of wonderful details. Thank you for joining us at Creative Artist this month. Hope to see your lovely artwork back here again soon. Judy DT
Fabulous October art Elle!
Strong winds are my least favourite weather too. We’re holidaying down on the Devon coast this week, and we’ve had some heavy rain, but overall it’s been pretty good, and we’ve had some lovely coastal walks.
Hope you’re seeing some improvement in your health.
Thanks for joining in with me at AJJ.
Alison xx
A great piece of artwork and thanks for sharing with us at TIOT
Miss Lily looks very contented in that first photograph and happy to supervise in the second.
This is a great page in your journal, love the background – the skulls are fab, the pumpkin looks real (look at the mouth, it actually looks like it has been cut for real) and the damask is perfect. The leaves, well, they are just fantastic.
Hugs to you and the cats

Wow!! Love the details in your project. Very creative. Lots of little details. Thank you for joining us at Creative Artist this month. Hope to see you back here again soon. Judyb DT
That fabric looks great. The black lace is very Victorian spooky. And I like how you covered and made those buttons. Nice creation. Thanks for sharing this with Alison’s challenge at AJJ. And I hope you’re storm free too. hugs-Erika
