Hi Friends!
Hope you are all doing well. Miss Lily’s blood tests came back and nothing to worry about there but they want to get her in for a dental as she has some tooth reabsorption that we already knew about, it’s just a matter of whether it takes care of itself or needs some help and whether or not she has pain. I don’t believe that is causing her digestive problems though, I am fairly convinced she has hairball issues despite being on “hairball control” food for years. I think they might be too big to bring up and possibly causing her problems at the other end. She will need an ultrasound to know for sure. But without being too graphic, she seemed to have solved part of the problem herself yesterday and today she seems much brighter.
Today’s art . . .
Yesterday I made this page from start to finish. I started off in the morning by painting some rainbow watercolour backgrounds with no real plan for them, but then I messed this one up and rather than waste the paper, I decided to cover it up with collage. You can still see some of the “good” bits of watercolour peeking out from under the collage. And I had these images that I had cut out a few months ago for a journal and never used so I wondered if I could make them work all together on this page. This is a page for Matilde’s theme of People.
Here’s a couple of closeups to show the gold highlights I added to the page with various markers across the background and on the images. All of the stamped words I found already stamped and cut out in a box, so I thought they worked together for this page.
My little girlie cat was back in her usual spot on her cushion on my art table which is maybe why I stayed there longer and finished the whole page. It was such a relief to have her behave more like her normal self, even when it can be a little inconvenient…
She’s such a critic! LOL That’s it for this week, the sun has decided to put its hat on and come out to play today, so with a forecast of 23C and sun, I need to run outside with the rest of Scotland and get some Vitamin D. As they say here, “it’s taps aff weather” (tops off).
Let me know what you think in the comments below. As always, thanks for reading, happy journalling!Ingredients

Dear Elle,
I’m so glad to hear that Miss Lily’s bloodwork came back fine – let’s hope everything else will turn out well too! ?
Your journal page is absolutely dreamy – I love how you used both a painted background and those cut-out images from a different journal. That’s recycling art at its best – and the faces of the young women are really beautiful! ??
And I’m sure Miss Lily wasn’t critiquing your work by stepping on it – quite the opposite: I believe she wanted to claim it because she liked it so much! ?
Warmest greetings from Austria,
Traude

What a beautiful page! I love the colour combinations in your collage background with the pops of watercolour, and the images are so pretty. Pleased to hear Ms Lily blood tests are ok and that she is still enjoying crafting with you …lol :-). Happy wishes! Hugs, Jo x
This page is beautiful Elle. No one would have known there was a mess up unless you mentioned it. 🙂 I love the rainbow colors, and those ladies are very pretty. The colors on those images is perfect too since it pops right off the background. Glad to hear Miss Lilly seems to be back to her old self. I hope you’re having a super weekend, and thank you for joining Matilde’s challenge. hugs-Erika
Glad all is well with Miss Lilly. the colors are great in your journal.
I m in love – with your journal page. I love faces, they fascinate me and these are three beautiful girls. Just look at the bottom one who is face on to us. She is so pretty. Her bone structure is perfect, her complexion is like porcelain tinged with rose and her eyes are like blue pools. OK Elle, I have waxed a bit lyrical but honestly I just think she is so beautiful I find it hard to describe her.
All three images are beautiful and I love the pieces you have put behind them, it all works so well. A gorgeous piece of work that should be on display not in.a closed book.
Glad Miss Lily is feeling better, well, appearing so, and hope that she continues to improve day by day.
Hug, Neet xx
ps wish you could improve too and get rid of those crutches..
As long as you get it under control, Miss Lily! It’s all good, nothing bad.
Cats are like small children.
Your journal page is enchanting to look at, the different colors and scenes are wonderful.
