Hi Friends!

Hope you are all doing well.  As I mentioned before Miss Lily’s blood tests came back OK but she is still not 100% her usual self and she’s really upset with me because of the weather – it’s RAINING constantly despite it being “summer”.  So she just looks out the window at the rain and then looks accusingly at me like I can fix it.  She just wants to enjoy snoozing on her cushion in the sun – I would like to do that too – so I don’t blame her.  The lovely warm, sunny weather we had in May was probably “the summer” and now we have nothing but rain.  It’s become a pattern over the last few years.  Global warming?  Good for the garden, great for the weeds blah blah, we have an abundance of water here.  We are lucky, I know, but I could still do with less rain and more sun!

Today’s art . . .

Today’s art is this page, which has a bright, summery feel despite the weather outside.  This is another watercolour rainbow background with some doodles and scribbles with neocolour IIs and markers, and the two people came from an old fashion magazine from 2012.

Their headdresses were made from flowers from a gardening catalogue, the feathers on her scarf and their headdresses were cut from some decoupage tissue paper and the butterflies came from napkins stuck onto some watercolour paper.  This is a page for Matilde’s theme of People.

The big “hello” die cut I found in my stash.  I had heat embossed in silver at some point but that didn’t suit this page now so I coloured it gold with a paint marker.  The rest of the words came from an old Carabelle stamp that I had used to stamp multiples of last year.  I found them all in a box ready to use so that was a nice surprise.  The gold stars are stickers like the ones they used to give you at school.  🙂

I have another page in the making, it’s covered in peace symbols. Nuff said!

ICAD /ICAT catch up . . .

Here’s a look at my week three ICADs or ICATs.   This week’s theme was typography, found text, lyrics and poetry.  If you’re on Instagram, I am sharing them daily.

Let me know what you think in the comments below.   As always, thanks for reading and happy journalling!

I like how you altered the women and their head pieces. Very clever and perfect for Matilde”s theme at AJJ.

You are so good at following themes. You nailed typography, found text, lyrics, and poetry. I really love the cats you created from the TH paper dolls, They are all stunning.

How wonderful are your iCats. I love them, they are quirky and exceptionally arty.. Fabulous poses and great outfits!
Glad someone else is complaining about the lack of sunshine. All my friends seem to be having a heatwave. We too have had a fair share of rain and holidays are not working out because of it.. However, your page is beautiful and makes me feel happy – a gorgeous background that changes from blues to pink (via purple. Your two girls are very attractive with their lavish headwear that matches the drapes of their dresses. Great use of gold on the page enhancing the fabulous lettering..
Hope Miss Lily soon returns to her usual self and is 100% fit.
Hugs, Neet xx

Too bad about all your rain but this post has some rocking art Elle. Your page for Matilde’s challenge is amazing. Those ladies looks great with their feathers and butterflies. And those ICADS are great. You have a huge collection of kitty faces from your labels. But of course feedings 3 cats means a lot of food. Too bad dog food cans aren’t so interesting-grin- so I could get some faces for my own use. Thanks for joining Matilde’s AJJ challenge. Your page is perfect with those fun people. Hope you see some sun soon. hugs-Erika
