I bought my first Simon Says Stamp card kit, which I think is quite possibly my first ever card kit, or “subscription” type box of any kind lol, but I decided to purchase this one because I liked the range of products included and it looked like pretty good value over all at $34.99.

OK, first of all I already have an Alcohol Lift Ink pad as I bought one as soon as they became available here, but a second one will be used as a gift for a friend.  I also love alcohol inks and out of the three included in the kit, I already have a Sunshine Yellow and a Stream, so the only new colour for me is the Sunset Orange, but that’s ok, as I use Stream a LOT, and can always do with more, and the yellow and orange will go well together for autumn cards. It might seem funny that I would buy a kit that has products in it that I already have but I really liked the overall theme of the kit and I love love love working with alcohol inks so I’m good with having more of them.  I also really loved the colours of this kit, and especially the foils, and I was curious to try the toner printed cards.

Anyhoo, moving on, here’s what the box looks like.

The funny thing is that given when I placed the order, when it was dispatched and how long it was likely to take to get here, I thought it was a pretty safe bet that it would not arrive while I was away visiting friends.  BUT it actually arrived the day after I left!!! So then when I got back I had to go collect it from the local post office.  I was really impressed with how fast this order was, as had I been home, I could have had the October card kit on October 2nd!  Since I was away, I picked it up today on the 6th.

All of this lovely crafty goodness fitted quite nicely in this small flat box.

I did some quick experimenting with the three alcohol inks that are included in the kit.  I like how the orange and yellow inks look together – not my usual colour palette but I like them and I already have a project idea in mind.

What’s in the kit:
Simon exclusive 6×8 stamp set – Sketched Flowers and sentiments
3 exclusive Gina K. Designs toner-printed Foil Cards
Gina K. Designs Fancy Foils Autumn Pack
3 Tim Holtz Ranger Alcohol Inks in Sunshine Yellow, Sunset Orange, and Stream
a three pack of 5.5 x 8.5 Simon Says Stamp Yupo Original white paper
FULL-SIZE Alcohol Lift-Ink from Tim Holtz and Ranger
