Hello friends and happy Sunday!
Hope you are well and enjoying your weekend. I have a lot on at the moment so I have not been posting as regularly as I normally do. However, today we have my DT inspiration project for this month’s challenge over on More Than Words and a quote that I really need to focus on more in my own life…
today’s art . . .
Today’s offering is this mixed media tag that I made as my DT inspiration for MTW Mini Challenge for January – the first Mini Challenge of the year – where the word inspiration is START. You can find the challenge details at the end of this post, do join in if you feel inspired.
I don’t have any step-by-step photos for you today as I was working at night and the light was terrible – no good for photos – but I can tell you a little bit about the tag.
First of all it was going to be a card, but I couldn’t decide, so then I cut these Infusion coloured pieces of card down into ATCs, but then I wasn’t completely happy with that either, so I left everything on my desk overnight and focused on something else.
Next day I looked at everything again and decided it really wanted to be a tag. I also pulled out some different supplies including this lovely olive green ribbon I bought for Christmas.
This colour combo might not be everyone’s cup of tea but it is one that I love! I would absolutely put pink cushions on an olive sofa for example lol. So I glued the ATCs onto one side of the tag, and then added the ribbon to the other side. I added the white leaf die-cuts to the pink side and added snow texture paste to the green side. I also added gold and white ink dots and some lime Stickles for some shine.
To finish off, I used a Tim Holtz quote sticker with more of the infusions-coloured card and glued them on the tag. Then I added some white pom pom ribbon to hang the tag. And that’s the finished tag for this month’s challenge. I hope you feel inspired to join in the challenge this month. This mini challenge is held in the Art Cafe Facebook Group which you can find here.
Let me know what you think in the comments. As always, thanks for reading!Ingredients
amazon box, HP watercolour paper, Paperartsy infusions, gold acrylic ink, snow pen, glue, white pen, Tim Holtz sticker, leftover diecut white leaves from stash, reindeer ribbon, snowball ribbon, stickles.
