Hello friends,

Here’s my official page for the Day 1 prompt:  TRAVEL (although my DT project for MTW this month also fits!)  and also for Day 2: Nature

I still prefer to have my two-age spreads but in lieu of a two-page spread, I like to make left and right pages that “go” together, and that’s what I did with this one.

Knowing what both prompts were going to be I thought about how I could combine them to look good together.  I covered my pages with magazine images showing a cabin in the woods, lots of trees, water etc, and used a leaf gel print to represent the nature element.  I was thinking “weekend getaway” so I was pleased to find the words “weekend away” in an old travel magazine.
I blended it all together using acrylic paint and as I did so, the gel print started to look like lawn, or a clearing in the middle of the woods.

I was also thinking about another current challenge at this point, a scavenger hunt, where the elements gathered were: something pink, dots, cat, scribbles, letters or numbers.  So I used this alphabet stencil on my background with the leftover paint and added some scribbles in white pen.
I combined the first three elements by adding my favourite cats, with pink dots on them, and made them look over the water at the cabin.
Perhaps these kitties are on their way to the getaway cabin for the weekend, or perhaps the getaway cabin includes cats – how awesome would that be!

Let me know what you think in the comments.   As always, thanks for reading!Ingredients

A fabulous idea to collage your image. The added stencilling and those cute cats finish the perfect pages.
