Hi Friends,
It’s a short post today as Miss Lily is still not well and we have to go back to the vets yet again today for further treatment/investigation.
It’s so worrying, and I am finding it hard to concentrate on anything. Since I have been taking care of her I have not felt much like making art, but I have been distracting myself with audiobooks. Since this is the end of the month, I have included my November book list below. I will try and visit everyone tonight or tomorrow depending on how today’s visit goes. Blogger is still causing problems with comments but only for those with a pop out form. My ticket to tea is my decaf coffee in my cat mum mug – there is also some baked oatmeal to go with it.
Today’s Art . . .
Today’s art is this page – yes I do have cats on my mind at the moment, and this one is looking very queenly so I gave her a costume complete with neck ruff.
There is collage all around her and on the facing page.
The cat drawing I actually did over two weeks ago and didn’t get the chance to get back to it with everything going on with the kittens.
I used a lot of old gel prints and various paper scraps that were lying around on my desk. The left side is completely covered and then I also collaged her dress and then the background surrounding her.
Currently Reading . . .
I am currently reading this book which is one of our book group’s Christmas picks, but it is a short book so I expect I will finish it before tomorrow. If you like crime fiction, I can recommend the JD Kirk series set in the Highlands. I just finished book 15 in the series. Or if you like spy fiction, the Mick Herron books are brilliant and they have been turned into a new TV show starring Gary Oldman. Our current book group read is The Christmas Murder Game by Alexandra Benedict and it was pretty good as a whodunnit and kept me guessing along the way, plus it’s set in Yorkshire over the 12 days of Christmas and everyone is snowed in, so good if you are looking for something “festive”.

Elle, you have been reading a bunch – wow. The only one I have read on your list is Where the Crawdads Sing and I loved it. The Slough House books must be good if you read that many of them! Reading is good to get your mind off of things – I have been doing a lot of it too (but not as much as you).
Hope they figure out what is wrong with your sweet kitty soon and that it is easy to cure.
The cat journal pages are outstanding. I love the colors and love that cat face. Another wow.
Happy T-day a bit late and many hugz
So sorry to read Miss Lily is still not well. I hope the vet was able to give you some decent answers.
Your advent calendar is wonderful and it is reusable, which I love. Looks like you could change the days around, too if you chose. Your decaf coffee in your cat mum mug goes well with the calendar and the oatmeal. too. Thanks for sharing this with us for T this Tuesday, dear Elle.
I LOVE your cat and the collage you also created on the matching page. It is absolutely perfect for Bleubeard’s and my theme at Art Journal Journey. Your cat is fabulous.
Not sure how you manage to read so many books and still get so many other things done. Very impressive.
Love your cat mug and journal page. So colorful!
You read a lot of books this month!
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
What a worry Miss Lily is, I do hope she gets better soon. Your journal page is a delight- the cat’s ruff does make her look very royal. Thanks for linking to AJJ and Elizabeth and Bleubeard ‘s theme. I’m impressed with your long reading list. The Mick Herron books interest me as we have just watched the first series on TV. I like the sound of The Christmas Murders too. Happy T Day, Chrisx
I’m so sorry that you have to worry about your cats – no wonder you can’t concentrate on much else. I hope that the vet can hep Miss Lily and she will feel much better soon. Gorgeous art journal page – yes, the cat does look queenly and I like the collage.
