Happy Earth Day!
Miss Lily has been enjoying the sunshine this week, following it around the house, and seeking out all the sunniest spots.
Today’s Art . . .
Today’s art is this page that I made today for Earth Day using a bunch of quilting cotton fabric scraps with a recycling theme. I actually gifted a piece of this fabric to Elizabeth last year during the napkin swap, I thought she’d like it because of the recycling motif. I hope she found a use for it. Happy bEARTHday to you also Elizabeth, hope you had a great day.
This is an entry for AJJ where the theme is recycling – see link at bottom of post. I pulled out some fabric scraps from the box to see what I could put on my page.
I was having some problems getting all the bits I wanted to fit on the page but then I found a page in my journal that had an extra fold out piece which made a much wider page and used that one.
When I was happy with the layout, I stuck it all down using matte medium.
Because this is all scrap pieces, some of the words on some of the pieces were incomplete, so I used some paint pens to write them back on and then add more flowers and leaves. If you compare the photo above with the photo below, you will be able to spot where I added in the missing letters in the words (a bit like one of those spot the different games).
Some Close-Ups . . .
And a Quick Video . . .

Sorry I am so late visiting. I now have four cats and two households to take care of, and every night I have visited my foodie friend Sally at the hospital till they throw me out. She finally got a room late last night. Before that she was stuck in the ER on a cot.
I love that fabric you used, but I honestly don’t remember even seeing that fabric. I know I didn’t open all the mail. Sharon opened at least half, but she would not have taken the fabric. I think you used it in a very clever way. I like the way you added the missing letters, too. This is absolutely PURRfect for Earth Day. Thanks for sharing this with us at Art Journal Journey using Bleubeard’s and my theme.
This is a fabulous Earth Day post Elle. That is the perfect fabric for the challenge. You’re always so good at getting bit of fabric to look like a solid piece once you get it down in your journal. I hope you get lots of sunshine for Miss Lily to bask in. It does feel good at this time of year, doesn’t it? Hope your feeling better and thanks for linking up to Ajj for Bluebeard’s and Elizabeth’s theme. Hugs,Eeika
It was nice day here in North Idaho.
Happy Earth Day.
Coffee is on and stay safe.
