Today’s Art . . .

Today’s art is this page that I made as an entry for AJJ where the theme is recycling – see link at bottom of post. This is another page from yet another challenge from the beginning of the year that I did not get finished and still haven’t!  It’s from Junk Journal January and January was as productive as December so the challenge is still unfinished but I am working on it.  The background of the page is a cardboard box from some food packaging.  On top (on this side) is an old gel print done on white card, and then a tag covered with book paper and gel printed deli paper leftovers, with ginkgo leaves from a free printable, a mini tag and a bird sticker on top. This is for the day 4 prompt of “decorated tag”.

On the reverse side is this page which has a foldout. This is for the day 16 prompt of “folded”.
It uses the same ginkgo leaves, and some leftovers from the Dephemerember challenge (peacock).  Part of the food box has been left to show through at the bottom as it was a Christmas item and has that nice eucalyptus design on the bottom.  When the page is unfolded, there is a free peacock feather printable stuck down over the top of some book paper.

I made this journal differently to my usual so this one is looseleaf on rings and each page is approximately 8 inches square and all the pages are made from Christmas food boxes.

Let me know what you think in the comments.   As always, thanks for reading.

Aren’t food packages the BEST? I love that you have used nothing but Christmas food packages in this junk journal. That would be a challenge for me. I used four packages this month, but you are so much better at recycling those packages than I. BTW, I saved several saltine cracker packages I’m going to use for Index Cards for my ICADs. I am truly impressed with these pages. They are fabulous and work perfectly for Bleubeard’s and my theme at AJJ.

I have lots of unfinished journals too, but that means I always have something started to work on instead of just a blank page. (But sometimes a blank page is good-at least for me.) This is such a lovely spring page Elle. Flowers, birds and peacock feathers are always nice. Thank you again for joining in at AJJ. I’m glad you were able to. Hugs-Erika
