Hi Friends and Happy Sunday!
I hope everyone is having a good weekend. We had/have an air show this weekend, all free and all free parking too, but I didn’t go to it. They are expecting over 100,000 people over the weekend, that’s too much people for me. It used to be an annual thing but this is the first one for a few years. If you like planes, aerial displays, hot air balloons, old planes etc then you would love this. I stayed home but I still managed to see a Chinook helicopter, some WW2 Spitfires and a few other interesting planes from my garden! If you’re interested, you can see the full program here and a video below:
Moving on . . .
Today’s Art . . .
Today’s art is my calendar page for September but also a page for my theme on Art Journal Journey for this month – Books, Cats and Tea, which are three of my very favourite things.
As you might remember, I am recycling an old A4 Bullet Journal for my calendar pages and as such, I have to cover up some of the previous contents of the pages. In this case, I used book paper, specifically pages from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. There are many references to Crookshanks the cat as I used pages from the chapter entitled “Cat, Rat and Dog”. Unfortunately some of these were covered up when I drew the black cat on top of them – oops!
I stamped the calendar day letters and date numbers and then wrote the month by hand down the left side of the page.
I also had a kitty helper sitting in one of her favourite spots (on my table!).
August Calendar Art . . .
And while I’m talking calendars, here are the calendars for August and July which I was not able to post due to ongoing health problems.
August uses teabags and tea packaging from some Japanese Kukicha tea. I had in mind Chris’s August theme when I made then but then never got to post about it.
July Calendar Art . . .
And then the July calendar… I went with a beach theme hoping to entice the good weather to come back but sadly July was very wet. I used some coffee packaging in the top left corner and painted over the words (decaf coffee, great taste award etc) I wanted to hide.
This page was intended for Alison’s theme for July – if you look closely you can see two birds and also people on the beach flying a kite!
All the stamps and the paint are from Paperartsy, except the JULY which was stamped with some of my handmade stamps. The name of the paint I used for the sand is appropriately called SAND 🙂
Let me know what you think in the comments. As always, thanks for reading and Happy Journalling!

Art Journal Journey – Books, Cats and Tea
I’m not quite sure how I missed this, but I adore your calendar pages. I especially LOVE the one for September, with the cats, even though I know nothing about Harry Potter. Thnaks for sharing this with us at AJJ using your theme, dear.
Great video from the festival. Your cat calendar is cute and the other July page is beautifully drawn.
How cute your cat looks at what you’re doing!!
Have a happy day, hug Elke
Love your calendars, especially the last one! Gorgeous colours and fabulous cats! Glad you are having fun with your challenge. Hugs, Valerie
Funny, we had an airshow in my area this weekend also. My husband had VIP parking tickets (because they charged for parking) because he’s doing some work for the airport, but we didn’t go. With Miss Maddie just coming home, we’d rather have been home with her. I like seeing all your calendars. And I like how you added Harry Potter book pages to cover this month’s already covered area. And July’s and August’s calendars look wonderful. Thanks for all your nice comments on my pages tody. I hope your new week starts off great. hugs-Erika
