Hi Friends!
Happy Sunday, hope your weekend has been a good one! It has rained here all weekend and the temps have dropped 10C degrees, so it was time to light the stove and close the curtains to keep out the cold. How quickly the weather can change sometimes. I think that might be the end of our nice weather. Oh well…
Today’s Art . . .
Today’s art is another page for my theme on Art Journal Journey for this month – Books, Cats and Tea, which are three of my very favourite things.
This page uses a card I made back in August 2019 for a challenge and was a winner, but then has spent four years sitting in a box. I’ve decided to reuse or actually just use some of my previous art projects in my current journals instead of just filing them away in a cupboard. The pros in doing this are many including saving space by not storing them in a box, actually making use of them and using the inside of the card as a journalling space!
In order to fit the card on the page without folding it, I had to use a landscape journal. Then I added book paper to the page and added some staining and paint splodges and splashes. I am again using the Harry Potter book I used in a previous project. It cost me 10p in a charity shop so I’m OK with using it, plus I have two copies in pristine condition on my bookshelves.
The card itself was made with watercolour paper that was sprayed with black tea and white acrylic. The mugs were stamped and fussy cut, I used a stencil on the background with texture paste, and then added the Prima sticker with the ladies drinking tea with the quote “The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time”. I framed the sticker with some Twinings tea box cardboard in gold.
Let me know what you think in the comments. As always, thanks for reading and Happy Journalling!

Art Journal Journey – Books, Cats and Tea
I have not recycled my old art until I started my Cats altered book. I LOVE how you changed things and how they now have a new look. You are brilliant when it comes to recycling and this is a wonderful entry for your theme at AJJ, dear Elle.
A lovely page and a very good idea to use cards up in this way. Sometimes I create a journal page on a large piece of card and stick it in myk journal – because I am afraid what I am going to do might have a glaring error in it.
However, this is a lovely card for your journal and the teacups and ladies lunching are great images.
Hugs, Neet xx
I love how you put that cool sticker in the middle of tea bag, and also how you recycle an old project and made it new. I have some vintage pages I love, but there are those that might as well be recycled. And you’re right, it is better than having them just sit in a box. This is another great addition to your theme. Hope you see some sun in this new week. hugs-Erika
