Hello Friends!
I’m back with more of last week’s art journalling. As mentioned in the previous post, I wanted to catch up with a challenge that I started but didn’t get to do due to injury. It’s a challenge called #Scrappy8 run by eight people for eight months on Instagram, February to September.
Today I am sharing the April and May pages for that challenge, both of which I did last week. The page above is the April page and the prompt was “Abstract Flowers and Botanticals”. This page also has a collage background with lots of greens for the flowers to rest in. Miss Lily was also helping me. It was early morning and the sun was hitting just in the right place on my table.
The second page I wanted to share is the May page, also made last week, and the prompt for that one was “Don’t Label Me”. The background is made up of old custom labels from the Post Office which I coloured with three different colours of Mattints, splattered it with paint and then added some stamping on top, in multiple colours, using my new favourite Kate Crane stamp set.
The focal image came from an old magazine and then I added the kraft tag on top with some diecut letters and some letter stickers.
These two pages live side by side in this little concertina booklet I created for this challenge. In the next post I will share the next two pages which I also made last week – it was a really productive week for artyness.
This month Jo from Let’s Art Journal is hosting her theme “Wonderfully Wild” on Art Journal Journey. I am linking the first page for all the “wild” abstract flowers. I would also like to link to Creative Artiste’s mixed media challenge #107, link is below.
Let me know what you think in the comments below. As always, thanks for reading and Happy Journalling!Ingredients

Two wonderful pages Elle. Your collaged background adds lovely interest to your pretty flowers page and the paint splatters and stamping look fabulous over the labels.
It’s a shame Miss Lily can’t enter our challenge, I’m sure the ladies would all vote her the winner.
Thank you for joining in with our August challenge “Anything Mixed Media Goes” at Creative Artiste Mixed Media. Good luck! x
I loved arting in the morning because the light is always so lovely then. Your pages are great. And those flowers for April
Are beautiful. Spring and early summer gardens look lovely, so your page could easily be for that season. The La Les are great too on your other page. Glad you’re feeling good enough to make some art, and thanks for joining us at AJJ for his challenge. Hugs ErikA
Beautiful pages! The colours and abstract design looks gorgeous, but I think Miss Lily steals the show ?. She looks so content and is a great companion helping with your crafting. Thanks so much for joining us at Art Journal Journey! Hugs, Jo x
