Hi Friends!

Here is my last page for February.  I’m so glad I was able to squeeze it in!  My kitty girl is still unwell, and had to get more medication today. I am hoping she improves over the weekend otherwise it’s back to the vet we go.

Today’s art . . .

This is a page for Vicki’s theme of Music on Art Journal Journey I’m so sorry it has taken me so long to join in this month, I had so many plans and page ideas but this month has not been the best.

This is why I love challenge prompts LOL  I bought this die last year in a sale and I bought it because I wanted to turn it into a pink panther.  It’s not a panther, it’s a lion as you can see but I reckoned I could probably change it into a panther, or a tiger or any other big cat.  I didn’t get around to doing that at the time though.

Fast forward a few months to the Music theme on AJJ and my mind made a jump from Music to The Pink Panther, and the very familiar theme tune from the movies.  In the short video below you will also see the policeman who looks just like the policeman on my page!

But, also did you know or do you remember that there used to be a song that went with the cartoon and the Pink Panther Show?  I have written some of the lyrics from the song on my page, and if you’ve never heard of this one, check out this video below.  He really is a groovy cat!  I used some Tim Holtz paper from my stash and cut it down to 8 x 8 inches.  I have more of this 12″ paper than I thought and they haven’t made it for years!  Then I worked out where to put the inspector and the pink panther.  I made the panther at the same time as I made Dracula.  I grunged up the page a bit with some Jane Davenport crayons in pinks and browns, leaving a highlight area for the two focal points.  I wrote the Pink Panther name with pink Poscas to mimic how it is written in the movie titles and drew part of the Eiffel tower on the left side.  Then I stamped the Inspector, some of the word stamps and the card suit stamps over the page.  I was making a connection between the diamonds and the Pink Panther diamond, which is a fictional diamond from the movies, though pink diamonds do exist but are rare.  Fun fact:  The Argyle mine in Western Australia was the world’s leading source of pink diamonds until it closed in 2020!

Thanks Vicki for your fun and inspiring Music theme, sorry I wasn’t able to join in more this month due to various life circumstances.

Let me know what you think in the comments below.   As always, thanks for reading and Happy journalling!Ingredients

Elle, this is a stunning piece. It could be a flyer for the movie. Well done my friend.

Oh how clever is this one! I love it and I watched that cartoon every Saturday morning with my breakfast cereal! LOL I reminder the music very well! Your page is so well done with your stunning details and I love that you’ve added the inspector in there too! The pink die with the lettering is perfect with your theme! I love it and your background design with the stamped images too! So a fun take on my “MUSIC” theme for the February AJJ challenge! I have loved seeing all of your fun inspiration with this! Thanks so much for sharing and squeezing in some time to play with it! Have an amazing and fun weekend!

Oh this is another fun page, and I love how you turned the lion into Pink. And that musical theme (at least the movie one) is so iconic. I had never heard the TV show theme, but that was fun to listen to so I’m glad you shared it. Thanks. I have a special connection to Pink from the Pink Panther because when the movies first came out my grandmother and I used to go see them together, so Pink always makes me think fondly of her. Thanks for that warm cozy feeling. And one more thank you for joining Vicki’s challenge. once again. You did it. You managed all 3 pages before the month ended. Happy new month to you also, since as I write this it is March in Scotland. hugs-Erika
