Hi Friends!
Happy March! Today I have my first page for the month. Things have got off to a rocky start this month as Miss Lily hasn’t been very well and looking after her has been taking up all of my time. Anyway, things were a little easier today so I had some time to sit down and make a page.
Today’s art . . .
This is my Calendar page for March and also of course, a page for Erika’s theme of Home Sweet Home on Art Journal Journey. These little nests are of course home sweet home for these cute little birds. You can tell that they’ve made their homes there, and have already started their little families.
This photo was taken quite late on in the day today, I think about 6pm, so the light is annoyingly reflecting on the tape.
For this page, still working in my recycled A4 Bujo book, I went with this lovely napkin that is covered in bird nests, feathers, eggs and flowers, and it just looks very Spring-like to me. I did two different things with the napkins, the first being just to stick it down on my page with some collage medium.
Then I used a photocopy from the same old NYC calendar I used last month for my calendar layout. After I stuck the napkin down, I stuck the calendar layout down too.
These little birds are from another napkin. This time I laminated them and then cut them out and stuck them on the page in various places. Also something else I had made, was my version of old yellow sellotape, but this is sellotape on steroids lol.
I also made some yellowed sello-circles, part of one you can see in the above photo, but they are dotted across the spread. I also splattered some brown and blue paint across the pages.
Here’s another look at the finished page – you can see a few more of those sello-circles, and all of the laminated birds.
Let me know what you think in the comments below. As always, thanks for reading and Happy journalling!Ingredients

Hi Elle! Your calendar for March is absolutely stunning! I love how you combined napkins to create this beautiful masterpiece. And you added the photo-copy of a calendar? That’s so creative! Thank you for sharing this!! Hugs, Sharon
