Hi Friends!

Happy T Day!  Well last time I posted for Tea, Miss Lily was unwell and here we are a month later and I am cautiously happy to report that she is almost back to her normal adorable self!  She was given anti-nausea, anti-inflammatory, antibiotics and appetite stimulants!  I had to stop giving her the antibiotics as they were really wearing on her little body and making her feel much worse rather than better.  They were really just a precaution to make sure she didn’t have some kind of bacterial infection, so I made the decision to stop.   Here she is at the weekend, being her normal little self, sitting in the sun in the kitchen and climbing up the bookcase to sit next to the ceiling.  Whatever was causing her symptoms seems to have cleared up and I’m very relieved about that as I was getting very worried about her, especially when she stopped eating.  But as you can see, she is feeling a lot better now.

Do I even have to say that I am STILL on crutches?  OK, just one crutch, but still need it and actually my other knee is not feeling too great either.  Hospital appointment is next week. I’m so over this!

Today’s art . . .

I needed something to do while taking care of Miss Lily and keeping her company on the couch, so I pulled out this needlefelting kit that I bought years ago in a sale and never started.  It’s a kit to make a Blue Tit in a wreath for Spring.  It doesn’t seem to be available anymore but I’m not surprised. I wasn’t very impressed with it because it wasn’t very realistic.  Inside the leaflet they suggested you look up photos of real birds to get the details right!

I did that, and then I gave up on the kit and just sort of winged it (no pun intended) so we ended up with this little bird that Miss Lily is very interested in!  I made some legs and feet from some wire so he can stand up.

Last time I posted for tea, I gave you an update on the Full Deck challenge, cards for weeks 1-8 above.  Here’s a look at cards for weeks 9-12 below.

The week 12 card is very Spring-like.  I was using bits and pieces that were left over from other projects.
Shanouki Art’s Full Deck challenge can be found in her FB group, on Instagram but mainly on her Youtube channel here.  I am following on Youtube because I hate facebook lol.  This is a year long challenge, where you alter one playing card every week till the end of the year.  The overall theme for this year is MINI COLLAGE which is totally my jam so I’m in!  There are only three rules which you can choose to follow or not –
1. leave one corner unaltered to show the number and suit,
2. carry something forward from the previous card, and
3. Use one thing the same in every card.
She also offers a prompt for each card that will get progressively more challenging.  The first seven are all simple colour challenges.

And finally . . .

Oh yes, I had a birthday, as did my BIL, so we had a thing at my sister’s and some of my cousins came down for it.  We hadn’t seem them for a while so it was a good excuse to catch up and have a nice family afternoon.  My lovely friend also gave me this beautiful Anemone gift.  I love Spring bulbs, it’s very encouraging that better weather and more daylight are on the way.  Our clocks will Spring forward this coming Sunday!

And for tea, here’s a photo of my art table this morning with my Cat Mum mug full of decaf.  I had recently bought some new Kilner jars for my teas and each jar had one of these very large inserts which to my brain were really asking to be recycled into something – a journal perhaps?

I was delighted to read that Miss Lily is much better..

I am sad I didn’t know it was your birthday. Happy belated birthday, dear. I’m also sad that you are still on a crutch and getting worse. Hope you improve soon.

I LOVE the playing cards and how each has a butterfly.. I really love the bunny..

I can see you using the jar items as backgrounds. Always love seeing your Cat Mum mug for T, too. Thanks for sharing your birthday, Miss Lily, the little bird, and your decaf with us for T this Tuesday, dear Elle.

Oh no, I meant to send you a birthday card and managed not to-shame on me.I actually wasn’t sure if your birthday was the 10th or 15th. Please let me know so I can write the date on my calendar for next year. I finally received the Harry Potter one, thank you so much! I LOVE it. I was going to post it next Monday on my T day post just because the last 2 T days posts have been kind of long. 🙂

Sorry to read that Miss Lily hadn’t been doing well, and you too. Man, that stinks that now your other knee is sore. Maybe it’s just tired of being off your feet so much. (grin) Good luck at the hospital. And I love the little bird and definitely those cards too. They are cool. Take care, and happy belated birthday. Thank you again for the HP card too. And happy T day day Elle. hugs-Erika
