Hi Friends!
Happy Friday, hope you are all doing well. Today is ANZAC day, and normally I would be on holiday since it’s a public holiday in Australia, and I would also be making the famous ANZAC biscuits, but I am not there, so I am not doing either of those things, but I am remembering the ANZACs quietly here. Anyway, today I have an art journal spread to share with you today, to finish off the week, and it’s a bonus for the last week of the April MTW Challenge.
Today’s art . . .
This is also a page for Erika’s theme of Spring Birds on Art Journal Journey.
This page is a bonus page for MTW’s new Instagram challenge where the week four prompts were M – feathers, T – splatters and W – free This is not my week to create for the DT so I was just playing with the free printable and came up with this page using the colourful feathers from the week 4 printable and the face from the week 1 printable. I did some colouring and shading on the printables, fussy cut them and then added the feathers to her head.
I used this old gift bag saved from the recycling bin as the base of my page. I thought it was the perfect background for my wild birds – what do you think?
I fussy cut the bird on the branch, the butterfly and the leaves and arranged them on the page. For the spatters prompt, I chose this fluoro pink and green acrylic ink.
Here’s a closer look and the girl…
And just when you start photographing your project, that would make it the perfect time for a Miss Lily photo bomb!
Let me know what you think in the comments below. As always, thanks for reading and Happy journalling!Ingredients

Hi Elle, This is just gorgeous! I love the feathers and all the bright colors.
Oh that bag is perfect, and I love the lady who has feathers for her hair. Yes, I would say that page fits perfectly for my AJJ challenge in many ways. I’m loving those splatter colors too. Thanks for joining in again. It is always appreciated. I also left a comment back on an earlier post from this month since it popped up while I was reading this one. I hope you enjoy your quiet celebration of Anzac Day. I know you used to live in Australia from when you’d mentioned it but did you live there for long? hugs-Erika
This is gorgeous. I love how you recycled the bag. The fussy cut feathers are stunning. These are most impressive. I laughed at Miss Lily photo bombing the photo shoot. What a fabulous entry for Erika’s theme at AJJ.
I love the way you painted the feathers and this imaginative page. Brilliantly designed!!!
Happy Sunday, hugs, Elke (Lebensglück)
