Hey friends,

Today I am sharing this tag which I made for More Than Words Mini Challenge DT inspiration.

Inspiration

My inspiration for this tag came from a number of ideas coming together but especially this stamp which I knew I wanted to use for the tag.

Overview of Process

I don’t have much of an overview this time as I didn’t take many photos as my background and some other elements were already made and so the tag was pretty quick to make.  I am using this watercolour background I made recently and never used.  I can’t remember why not, but it was perfect to use for my yoga girl tag.  I marked out a tag shape and then cut the watercolour paper to size.  Then I cut a piece of white card to the same size and glued them together for more stability.  Then I made the little eyelet reinforcer thing from some white card that I inked up with Passionate Pink ink.  I also edged the tag with this ink.  I stamped my girl on the tag using Versafine Onyx Black ink.

When the ink was dry I added some gold paint splatters to the background and highlighted her clothes, hair and makeup with the same gold.  I had some left over so I went over the edges of the tag with it as well.  I added the Tim Holtz Snarky Small Talk sticker (this one makes me laugh) and the black letters HI which I had already die cut, and then I added a few Nuvo Drops.  All that was left to do was to add the purple ribbon and call it done.

Thoughts

I love my yoga girl stamp.  I’ve used it a few times and actually used it quite recently too.  On this background she looks very zen, like she’s floating in the air as she meditates.

Since we are all stuck inside and can’t leave the house, I thought I would try and do two things:
1. use this time to finish any unfinished projects
2. use as much recycled materials and scraps as possible (I do this a lot anyway) but also not to buy new stuff!
So, with that in mind, I will note the above on any posts, if applicable.
UNFINISHED PROJECT – NO
RECYCLED MATERIALS – YES and nothing new used,
