As I mentioned previously, I am doing four year-long courses this year. I’ve been a bit slow getting started for one reason or another but I have managed to watch the lessons and read the documentation if any. The same reason I had for not starting Book of Days by Effy Wild is the same reason for my lateness with this lesson for Moonshine, also by Effy Wild, and it was making the decision about what journal size to work in. In the end, I decided to make my journal the same size as the one I made for BOD since they are both classes run by the same person and I can keep my journals together. So I am working on A3 sized paper folded in half to make A4 sized pages, so the following page is A4 or roughly US Letter size. Again the prep lesson was to paint the journal cover so I couldn’t do that until I had settled on a journal to work in!
As this is a class lesson, there is no tutorial,
just a couple of starting out photos and a lot of ending up photos. Actually there are no starting photos of this one at all, just the end result.
And a close up…
This is supposed to be a Luna Moth, but as you will see I have taken quite a bit of artistic licence with it.
So this is my new art journal for this class and this is the cover. It too has a signature made up of four pages and stitched together. I will make more of them throughout the year and keep them all together maybe in a binder of some kind. Here’s a look at both covers side by side, one for each of the two courses I am taking with Effy.
