Hi everyone,
I have a second post for today as I am sharing some cards I made for some August birthdays! It’s been so long since I made any cards I thought maybe I’d forgotten how to do it LOL. They all had to go off in the mail very quickly so I knew I needed to make something that was quick and simple (or quick and simple for me haha).
You might remember seeing this photo from the end of July, when I was making some storage boxes for my ICADs. Prior to doodling all over the boxes, I did some practice doodling with a white pen on these old alcohol inked backgrounds…
So I remembered I had the backgrounds and all I really needed to do with them was turn them into cards and add a bit of embellishment! I cut them down to size and then cut some cardstock to match for the card bases.
Each card was intended for a friend and went along with these Harris Tweed covered journals I made for them (and a few other things).
I had all these leftover die cuts in a box, all leftover from recent projects or in the case of the die cut foam hello’s, not used at all, so to finish the cards off, all I had to do was glue them to the front and the cards were finished – keep it simple indeed! The first card has a strip of watercolour paper topped with a green foam hello, and two die cut butterflies, the middle card has two die cut butterflies layered on top of each other and a green thread nest underneath, and the third card is similar to the first with some die cut leaves added instead of the butterflies. It probably took me less than 10 mins to assemble them since the backgrounds were already created and the doodling done, but even if they hadn’t been, it would still have been a simple job. The current theme over on Try it on Tuesday is – Keep It Simple – so I hope these cards qualify as they were very simple (and quick) to make and just what I needed to be able to post them off today!
Let me know what you think in the comments. As always, thanks for reading!
