Hello friends and happy Sunday!  This is the August Bank Holiday weekend and so I am hoping to get some things done in the garden but first today I am sharing a page that I managed to make yesterday.  Still not feeling 100% so I was trying to take it easy and not do too much.  This is another page inspired by Type and Type is of course, the August challenge over on Art Journal Journey and chosen by this month’s host, the lovely Neet.

I may have a lot of typewriter/type related stamps in my collection but I probably have even more type-related fabrics!  Here’s a few of them…

For this page, I used the small piece of fabric on the left hand side with the black typewriters on the cream type background.  I have another page planned using the other fabrics, if I can get it done in time.
This is a lovely fabric that has a typed background which is all about typewriters and typing, and then the lovely vintage typewriters as the main feature.  It’s leftover from a book cosy that I made, which you can see on the right of the photo below.

I painted the background of the page with a Paperartsy chalk paint in Nougat to try and match the background colour of the fabric so the join isn’t as obvious.  Then I stamped over the page using a couple of Tim Holtz stamps including an older one that has a typewriter keyboard layout on it and one that has the hand holding the pen.  To finish off the page, I wrote out a quote, though I’m not really sure it is a quote and not something I just made up lol, the second part definitely is!  I added a few pieces of Tim Holtz ephemera including the pen nibs, the watch and the lady on the left side.  As the fabric piece was just a scrap the bottom row of typewriters were cut off just under the keys, so I drew around them with a black Pitt pen and made them complete again and then added some shading with a grey Pitt pen.

That’s it for today, short and sweet, and back for a lie down on the sofa.  Let me know what you think in the comments.   As always, thanks for reading!Ingredients

Goodness, Elle. I was really impressed with this fabric. You have some great typewriter inspired fabric. And you certainly put it to impressive use. I love the sentiment you chose and the background you created. I always love fabric journal pages and this one is by far one of the best I have ever seen. Thanks for sharing this with us using Neet’s theme at AJJ.

That is fabulous fabric Elle. You have some nice type in your stash. I love how you used it on your page too; cutting out the typewriters made some super images. The quote is wonderful for your page too. And so is that Victorian lady. What a cool sticker. This is a really super page, and I’ve had to look at it several times. Thanks for sharing with us at Art Journal Journey for Neet’s challenge. Happy new week and enjoy the end of your bank holiday weekend. hugs-Erika
